Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It'll be like Italia 90 all over again - people hanging out of cars with tricolours and dancing on the streets:D

Awful shame we couldn't see Thorpe at his peak take on Phelps at his peak!

As close as you could get to it.

Wow they are some odds, have to say I'm so nervous for her! Actually have a pain in my stomach!! Its like the penalty shoot out feeling from Italia 90 all over again, the whole nation praying and hoping!!
Really hope she does it, didnt like that interview posted earlier in thread with her next opponent. Katie deserves the gold, her record to date everything she has achieved itd be a sin for her to get silver. Come on Katie!!

Am I right that team GB have won no medals today (not including the boxing as Sky news pointed out that Cian won Ireland's first medal today) that will keep Lineker quiet, made more galling by the fact that the Argies(as they are known by in The Sun) beat them in the hockey as well. If the Olympics started today we would have one more medal than them.

Beach volleyball on BBC3 now. USA v USA.

    We're all in this psy-op together.🤨

Brilliant from all the Irish competitors today.

We now have won more medals in this Olympics than India (5 v 4).

We've also won more medals in total than India have. They have 24 and we have 27.

Not a bad record in comparison to the second largest country in the world by population (1.2 billion).

    What difference does it make?

If believing in God gives her confidence in the ring then leave her at it. If believing in the Greek Goddess Athena gives another fighter some confidence then let them away with it.

It doesn't impact on you so why should you care.

Stylish. As. Fcuk. The man is class personified! He does speak very well (despite what people think of his accent).

I'd say he would be great company over a snifter of port.

Nothing to do with her years of pushing herself to the limit and dedication to her sport.

Now if she hits the booze and fags and lives off MacDonalds for the next 4 years and then wins in Rio then I'll believe her Sky Fairy favours her over other boxers.
