Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

just heard on the BBC that the first american runner on the 4X400 meter heat this morning broke his leg after 200 meters and carried on running, he said he didnt wanna let his teammates down..

    some man

Just read it myself on the BBC website. That is one courageous dude, because it could effectively end his career as an athlete but then I guess that is what differentiates winners from the rest- the ability to push on regardless of momentary discomfort and challenges-fair dues to him I'd say..

I'm going for Bolt, Blake and Martina (note: I have no idea what Martina is like as a runner, I just picked him out!)

    LMAO

Bolt flirting with the volunteer on camera before the start of the race :eek::D:D

    Legend

I have Bolt, Blake and Spearman as the 1,2,3

Obvious prediction and you are quite right because Bolt has this intense belief in himself but for some reason, I think Yohan might just take this one. Not long now lads.

    I'm quite nervous for this.

Re the 4 x 400 earlier. They reinstated RSA because it wasnt their fault (missed it and have been out all day), yeah? So they are putting them in the extra lane. What if it was only an 8 lane track. Whats the protocol then?

Big financial rewards for him breaking records. He'll just aim to chip away at them rather than smash them.

If they get the changes right the 4X100 sprint will be a literal walkover.

I'm sure Wallace Spearman is chuffed for them :)

Kind of disappointed he slowed up towards the end, would have loved to have seen the record broken and in my opinion there would have been no occasion bigger than the Olympics to do it!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,325 ✭✭✭✭leahyl

Great overhead shot of the race there in slow motion - you really get to see the sheer speed of Bolt - amazing

As if we didnt know lol. Only issue is Asafa is injured but I am sure they have a lot of replacements ready, I think the other 7 qualifiers would just be battling for the silver medal tbh

The US will disagree with that

Thought it might have been Ricky Simms but doesn't look like him, definitely had a Donegal/Nordie accent
