Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Think Annalise Murphy in the sailing will be a household name by the weekend, just about to win her 3rd race out of 3. Heard she had based herself in Weymouth and looks like it's paid off for her. Seven races still to go though but she seems to be dominating her class.

Prince Harry is looking a bit bored at the Showjumping.

Why do the women beach volleyballers wear next to nothing but the men are 'fully dressed'! I protest! :P:(

There's a long way to go before the end of the race yet. But, yea, outstanding performance so far.

Went to the Judo on Sat at the excel. Great atmosphere and the volunteers and army were very helpful. Can't wait until next week, off to the women's footie final at Wembley.

Folks, best to follow the sailing on the BBC red button option if you have it. RTE haven't as yet, got anyone down at Weymouth. They're probably sorting that out as we speak but at least the Beeb are covering it live.

RTE probably dont really have many commentators anywhere, barr the major venues in london. Alot of them are probably in a broom cubboard in Donnybrook watching the exact same pictures as everyone else.

Know nothing about sailing. What's the story with Annalise? Could she medal? Or will the cream rise to the top in the next 7 races?

You can bet your bottomed dollar one of RTE's finest is legging it down to Dorset as we speak. Cue Sharon on the Six One news which will be live from Weymouth if Murphy keeps it up.

Women's gymnastics team finals starting at half 4 on BBC1 (switches to BBC3 at 6). Not likely to be AS dramatic as the men's as there aren't as many top contenders, but still exciting. USA are expected to win it, but Russia and Romania are fierce.

    Routines to watch out for:

McKayla Maroney USA, vault (It is UNBELIEVABLE)
    Gabby Douglas, USA, bars
    Beth Tweddle, GB, bars
    Viktoria Komova, RUS, bars
    Aliya Mustafina, RUS, bars
    Sui Lu, CHN, beam
    He Kexin, CHN, bars
    Larisa Iordache, ROM, beam, floor
    Catalina Ponor, ROM, beam, floor
    Sandra Izbasa, ROM, floor
    Ksenia Afansayeva, RUS, floor
    Aly Raisman, USA, beam, floor
    Jordyn Wieber, USA, floor
    Kyla Ross, USA, beam, bars

Commentator in the badminton is awful...all he ever says after a rally is..."aw well played [players name]....great rally"

  • Registered Users Posts: 227 ✭✭hypersquirrel

Eventing team finished 5th overall and Aoife Clarke finished 7th in the individuals after jumping clear in the show jumping. Looks great for the future.

The Swede misses out on the gold by knocking the very last.

Fingers crossed Chloe can pull it back but she's played fantastically win or lose.

Hard luck to Magee in the badminton.. Was a great game to watch.
She had a lot of shots go long with the style of game she was playing with all the deep shots but she got 4 or 5 in her favour when pi left them off and they were in.

A lot of unforced errors by both players.

How does the sailing work? Has she built up a lead to 2nd and 3rd overall?

What's the story with Annalise Murphy, something to do with a red flag on committe boat. Hope nothing to do with our girl

I think the boat failed a drugs test.

I thought Pi had lost the plot entirely for a bit allowing all those points against herself.

There are ten races, you get a point equal to the position you finish. So 4 1st gives her 4 points. Belgium are in second with 16 points. Lowest points win obviously. After the 10 races, there is a medal race, for the top ten competitors, where the points are doubled and added to your total.

Have a bet of 50c on the North Korean to beat the US in womens football
