Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The Irish are out in force around Buck Palace. All the Green, White & Gold flags!

Heffernan holding his own in the front pack too :)

Lots of flags all right, some crowd all in all for this.

Its only 1 event out of 6 though.

I know but still a good performance, someone to look out for.

    They're not Irish flags!

Irish flags are green, white and orange.

Heffernan is doing well; he hasn't been caught yet. :pac:

Awwww that poor Russian. The glazed look in his eyes.

About 1km to go in the 20k race, he just collapsed, eyes glazed over totally.

9th for Heffernan, good result for him considering the 50k is his better event.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,125 ✭✭✭westendgirlie

Well done Heffernan. 9th is a decent finish

Have GB won gold in every track cycling event apart from that disqualification? Talk about dominance

Could have (and probably should have) won both mens road races too

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 52,475 ✭✭✭✭tayto lover

Long auld walk back to the start for them now.

The three girls who won the gold for Britain in the pursuit come across as some of the nicest, most bubbly and just most normal people you could ever come across. Very refreshing and so pleased for them!

Ah ffs I still have no idea what this ominum race is about.

More or less, they are even subbing Chris Hoy in some of the team sprints, now that is a pool of talent.

Is yer man into the next round in the walking race? Did sleeping in an oxygen tent help him?

I find it hard to take this event seriously.. :p

    We're all in this psy-op together.🤨

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,231 ✭✭✭Hercule Poirot

This race is a fecking farce, twice someone should have been eliminated and twice the flash box didnt work - ridiculous!

Agree totally with your comments about the Olympians. And I get where you are coming from with the bit about modern day footballers. Don't think I could give it up though!

Gonna have to watch the swimming online tonight :(

Its a shame Phelps will go number 3 in his race. It would have been magical seeing him win the gold at the end.
