It might weaken the signal but if your analogue is ok then you should be fine. In Balbriggan you'd most likely be picking up Saorview from the Clermont Carn transmitter in Louth on channel 53. Try tuning the box on 53.

It's possible it might not be. Clermont Carn is on low power until analogue switches off on October 24th which will limit where it can be picked up. If you can't get it now you should get it after that.

Saorview is 100% available in Fancourt. Make sure it's setup correctly and you have the right input selected on the TV. Let us know how you get on!

Just on the Saorview subject ... Do you need a box for each television in the house or will one box do ??

    I would say yes.

Unless you can take a separate feed off the HDMI, SCART and there seems to be an analogue aerial output on the box as well.

Yes, Sparky84, ya need a box for each TV unless it is a fairly new TV that may have a DTV (MPEG4 tuner) built in.

Anyone around the north county who currently has dodgy Saorview from Clermont Carn should try pointing a TV aerial east and doing a scan.

I'm getting over 100 Freeview channels from Wales and England from a TV aerial in the attic. (The aerial needs to point east and be horizontally polarised.)

All the channels from LLanddona and Moel-Y-Parc in Wales, and Winter Hill near Manchester are booming in here to Balbriggan.

The freeview signal from LLandona in Wales is the cause of the interference to Saorview from Clermont on ch53.
The weather is causing this, anyone who's always lived around here should remember the dodgy TV reception we would get on nice days in summer . These channels will probably disappear later tonight, and Saorview reception will return to normal.
