Jet Stream is moving North at last !

I dont know how much it is linked to the pattern of the jet stream in recent times but it has been interesting this week watching every forecast band of rain ducking off to the south before it reaches the Mayo coast. Looks very much now as though tomorrow's forecast rain event will again be limited to Munster and Leinster only and Connacht and Ulster will continue with the ongoing cooler dry pattern.

The ground is incredibly yellow in Mayo now, for a place that has seen so much rain in the last year it is incredible how a few dry weeks can change things so quickly. The next forecast rain band is Saturday afternoon, it will be interesting to see if this is the one that finally beats back the colder air in these parts.

Sunday saw some late rain down here but it was dry and at times quite bright yesterday, today when the rain is supposedly moving in its trying to brighten up again.

It looks like our climate is getting back to normal which means 20c or above for SE England and the usual rain and permanent blanket of cloud for us.
Here comes the summer :rolleyes:

this place, Omsk in Siberia was completely snow covered up to a few days ago, now 17c at 8pm, the transition from winter to summer takes just a few days. Me jealous? you bet I am!
