Week back on track is going well. Used a few of my weeklies today but being really good and nothing mad going on that will push me over the edge - hopefully not anyway!

My boss has decided that we are doing pilates every friday morning, payed for by them which is amazing. But today was the first day and didnt I have to go and end up practically fainting. I got really dizzy when we went to do sit ups and got sent home from work before the day started. Wasnt expecting pilates to be so tough going and the office got really hot, and I probably should have eaten more than a banana before. Felt like a bit of an idiot, they were all fussing over me - felt so stupid. But anyway - hopefully the pilates will go better next friday cos it was really good up until the dizzy part.

Keeping on track but wanted a bit of a friday treat so made home made chicken nuggets and chips! They worked so much better than I thought - very delicious. And only 11pp altogether. ?ui=2&ik=1148a5d3a7&view=att&th=139c6b84d460b863&attid=0.1&disp=inline&safe=1&zw&saduie=AG9B_P8q1O-KP6B1O8NA6IpQc-rS&sadet=1347659586530&sads=cPblWJGxyBFxVzvuQE-zhxKUk6A

I made these today and they were yum! I've an awful feeling mine were more than 2 pp each though. I wonder if I used a different brand of pastry to you or something? I had them eaten before I thought to question it!!

Hey,

I used jus roll brand but if each sheet u used was 3 u only used half or a quarter. I'm just thinking the 1 I used was deffo 1 pp per sheet. I'll double check on Monday and let u know but I remember calculating it? I'll let u know but I'm glad you liked them :-)

Went back to my lovely meeting this am. Am saying for the millionth time that I'm getting back on track. If I don't manage to cop myself on over the next few weeks, I'm going to officially declare myself a non member, and stop wasting my time and money pretending to be a weight watcher!!!

Reasons I want to Succeed
I've been getting lots of compliments since I went back to work about how well I look, and how much weight I've lost
I worked hard to lose my 3 stone... I don't want to undo it
I want to be a success at this. I want to finish what I started, and lose the remaining 2.5 stone
I like the idea of being able to wear whatever clothes I want
I don't want to find myself having to go and buy massive clothes
I like that I'm fitter now than I was before I was pregnant
I don't have to hide from the camera now when someone is taking a photo
I have my little boy now, and he deserves a happy healthy Mammy
He also deserves to grow up in an environment where fruit and vegetables are around him, and to get the gift of healthy eating
I want to continue alone this journey with my Mam. We started it together in January, and we'll finish it together

Reasons I should Sabotage Myself
I like the taste of chocolate too much for my own good
I'm starting to get lazy

It's all a bit of a no brainer really, isn't it?

Good luck everyone with this weeks weigh ins!!:D

this is brilliant...and a great idea to type up and print out...daily motivation is exactly what i need...i always feel like this on Wednesdays after meeting and its gone by the next morning. thanks for your words of wisdom :-):-)

I haven't been to meetings in quite a few weeks and I am going on hols in 2 weeks so haven't bothered going back. I have decided I am not going to rejoin when I get back but to try and do it on my own. But like you, I love the weekly weigh in, the silver sevens and stones. So I am going to see if I can get the 7 stickers and stones anywhere and get my husband to weigh me every week and will give him the stickers and stones and get him to give them to me when I earn them :)

I do it at home and I find its important to include someone else as it makes you feel accountable! Instead of stickers and stones you could allow yourself a little treat like a new bottle of nail varnish or something like that. Once I get back to my previous low, I'm allowing myself to get this gorgeous dress I've had my eye on!

I STS today which I'm ok with as I acted like it was my TOTM last week. Not overly bad but just going over by a few points everyday! Looking forward to the next week. I've a big night out Fri week so want to lose a few lbs by then :)

Have my WI tomorrow. Been so good all week - have 18 weeklies left and considering I had my TOTM that is pretty good going for me. I am a little worried as I usually STS or gain the week after my TOTM - but I have usually used every single weekly so hoping for something to show this week. Esp after my holiday gain last week!

Hope everyone had a nice weekend and best of luck with the WI's

So first day done, stuff my face but weighed and measured everything which is hard but felt satisfied after eating. Usually feel bloaty and stuffed as my mouth has no off switch when there is food near me.

I bought Lovely little note book n pink girly pens so my food diary all pretty. I'm still not sure have I too use all my daily point as I only used 24 today

Hi guys, I'm on WW again since yesterday - hoping to actually be able to keep it up this time:o

In relation to activity points - what can be classified as high intensity exercise? For instance, I am going to the gym for an hour after work and will do 50 minutes cardio and about 10/15 weight machines - would this be seen as intense?:o

I would count high intensity exercise as jogging or an intense exercise class like Zumba or Aerobics. I would count weights/strength training as low intensity and cycling on an exercise bike or brisk walking on a treadmill as medium intensity. Oh and I would count the cross trainer as high intensity.

Cool thanks a mil - yeah I was thinking that the treadmill might be medium intensity alright since I don't do much running on it but the cross trainer is fairly tough! So I will go with medium overall I think :)

Well, am glad the summer is over because I weighed in this morning and am a grand total of one pound less than the start of the summer! Annoying because I have been up and down so much the last few months. Am considering trying it at home as some of you have been saying, and ye seem to be doing so well. I just can't afford the meetings, and my meeting is very big and impersonal. Have a good weighing scales so am going to give it a go for a couple of weeks and see if I can drop a few pounds!

Motivation has all but gone out the window the last week or so, don't know why. Am trying to focus on why I joined ww in the first place. Am also thinking about Halloween as a short term goal, and Christmas after that. If it doesn't sound too weird, I'm almost worried/afraid I won't achieve my goals, but its up to me, I can do it if I really want to! Great reading all the advice, recipes and stories on here :)

I'm in the exact same boat. I'm a couple of pounds heavier than I was at the start of the summer. Went back to work a month ago after maternity leave, and I'm half a stone heavier now than then. I'm disgusted with myself, but I can't seem to knuckle down. Have been a small bit Better the past wk, but by no means exemplary. I too have been trying to focus on my original goals. I'm starting to think ill have to have another baby and have another maternity leave where I've got plenty time to exercise!!

Right there with ye guys... I joined last December and got to my goal weight in July just before I headed off on holidays, however I decided to go that little bit further (silly) and drop my goal two more pounds. To cut a long story short (and after 2 holidays) I'm way back at least a half stone heavier (im too annoyed to figure out exact figures) than my original goal weight. I was just getting into the swing of things again when I got sick and had to be put on a course of antibiotics and to my complete shock (after a great week) put on 5 and a half pounds. Since that I've been kept in and released from hospital (last week) for a surgical procedure. What should have been a loss on the scales last night from a false gain the week before, was a sts from my bad week in hospital. I cant exercise for at least a month which is killing me so I've started off today with the hope of having an extra good week... Never saw it being this hard, but we'll get there I guess, just a bit of an annoying setback... :(

At least you've a reasonable excuse! I'm just one of the fallen ones. I'm actually starting to annoy myself with the amount of times I've said "I'll start again tomorrow". I think one of my problems is that I got into the habit of going over my pp the odd day, and could get away with it when I was breastfeeding (great way of burning a few extra calories). Now I'm not bfeeding, so I need to stick to the plan by the letter.
Can we get there?? Yes we can!

I've an excuse for the last 2 weeks but not for the 3/4 weeks before that which is when I started falling off the wagon! I wish I didn't like my food so much, especially sweet food, its my downfall! Keep checking and posting in here, it might help keep u motivated :)

Girls, I am right there with you. Except it's a few months (or a bit more) for you guys, it's over a year for me. I started in November 2010 with over 8 stone to lose. I lost almost 4 stone in 8 months. Then I had my wedding last August and it all spiraled downhill from there. Up's and downs and STS. By January this year, I had gained 16lb of the weight I had lost. Continued to arse around but then started losing again when I joined a gym. Lost 10lb in 6 weeks. Then I moved apartment and I don't know what came over me in the preceding weeks but I have completely gone back to my old ways (pre-weightwatchers). I think I have gained about 8lb in the last 5 weeks, don't know precisely as I have not returned to meetings.

One thing I would say to ya's, please don't leave it another day, another week, until you have realised a whole year has passed you by. I fully regret wasting this whole year (WW wise) and am so disappointed in myself. I am going on holidays in 2 weeks and to think I could have been lovely and slim if I had of put the work in is upsetting. I am so annoyed at the time I have wasted. When I come back from holidays, I am going to join the local gym which is right next door to my apartment :) So if that isn't motivation, I don't know what is.

Girls, you can do it. Don't start tomorrow. Start now. Good luck :)

Will be hard at weekend for me but I need to do this as birthday in 6 weeks so would like to lose 6-10lbs will revise nearer time. Not long to Xmas and hopefully I'll be under 10st which means I need to lose 18lbs

Lost 1.5 tonight. Am delighted cos the most I have ever lost the week after my TOTM is half a pound - so gonna be as good this week and hope for something similar next week!! I need 3lbs to get me into the 10's so would love that by october - a bit ambitious but I'm going for it!

Did okay food wise for my first week up until we had a family bereavement on Friday morning and the whole lot went out the window. He was a lovely man and was very encouraging about my weightwatchers journey - even though I spent the past few days upset, he is really in a better place now after suffering for so long and I didn't want to use his death as an excuse to binge, so I got back tracking today and stuck to my daily PP. Ok, I went 6 over, I just felt like I needed a (large) drink!

I'm 2lbs down this week, which is a lot more than I would have hoped for given the circumstances.

On to a lighter note, has anyone tried the cauliflower pizza base? I saw it on Carolanneskitchen.com, might try it tomorrow. If I use passata and veggie toppings I can have a pizza-esque thing for 0pp!

Oh that sounds yummy.
I love cashew nuts.

I was just OK food-wise this weekend but I've been exercising a lot so I'm hoping that will stem any damage I may have done!

I ran the 2nd of the 5Ks last night and came in 7 mins ahead of last week's time so was deeeeeeelighed with myself!
Had my dinner when I got home, spag bol with wholewheat spaghetti, low fat steak mince and lots of veggies. Yum.

I have so much going on for the next 2 months that WW is going to be incredibly difficult. I have my hols, 3 work trips abroad, a wedding and a 40th birthday party. *groan*

I know exactly what you mean and i know people say you have to have a life and i do, but im just 5.5lbs from goal but i have so much on in the coming weeks ill just have to be extra good from Monday to Friday. Im giving my self till xmas to get to goal. I very rarely drink which means i have my 49 points to spend across the week so i might add a few points each day and a few treats at the weekend but the problem is then because i get use to that when i have something on at the weekend i have to try to stick to 26 points every other day and i really struggle with that :(

Hi guys!

I havent logged in in a while but Ive been reading. Last time here I was 13lbs down but the holidays hit and I went up by 6lbs. Im back on the wagon and lost 3 lbs last week and I would love to lose the other 3 this week and be back on track. I dont know if I will as I was out a few times over the weekend for lunch etc but Im exercising a lot.

I started Spin 10 days ago. I've been doing that and football and aerobics. I have to say, contrary to popular opinion, spin is excellent. Its 45 mins, very high intensity and the sweat... well Ill leave that part to your imagination. Its very tough but so worth it as I burn more calories than I ever would in the gym.

My problem is food not exercise. Oh well, onwards and downwards!

Boys & Girls, Young's Admiral Pie is absolutely yum and it's only 9pp. I got a few in Tesco on offer the other day and I was thinking it'd be around 12 or 13pp but it's very filling for 9pp!

Things are going ok so far in my first week! Have been going to the gym everyday after work since Monday so hope to keep that up! Looking forward to the weekend as I have all my 49 pps left so hope to have a treat or two:) I notice also that once I come home after the gym and have my dinner that I'm not as hungry - maybe thats because I'm having dinner later?

I used to do that too but found I was kinda rushing the gym as I was hungry and wanted to get home!
Now I have dinner first and save a couple of pp for a wee treat when I get in.

With the 5K thing I'm doing every Tuesday now it starts at 7pm so I wait and have dinner when I get home and then don't need any snacks, so that works well too!
I guess whatever works!!

Off to Westport for the weekend so will try to be sorta good food-wise although I know we'll be out for dinner.

Eek.

I often go for prawn fajitas as the worst part of those is the wraps. Plus O'Malley's do yummy ones!

:D

Made a chicken and cashew nut stir fry for dinner this eve. My leader gave us the recipe a few weeks back. 6pp per serving (and another few for rice). It was fab. Will post the recipe later in the week!

Ooooh I've made that a few times its yummy! The only bad thing about it is the lack of cashew nuts! Its such a small portion (from the WW recipe anyway) and I love cashew nuts!

3 pounds isn't a bad gain for holidays, I went on two holidays this year (I know lucky me ha) the first time I got away with putting on 1 pound but the second I put on a whopping 5 pounds, so ya did good! Plus ya enjoyed it so thats the main thing! Also, loving the blog, keep it up :D

Well done, slightly jealous I have to say! I'm on day 3 of my planning-to-be-extra-strict week, dying get closer to that goal I threw myself away from!

Well done! You must be feeling great! :D

Had some cake in work today - one of the girls birthday. Had 5 daily points to allocate to it and gonna take 5 out of my weeklies to be sure. Don't think I had 10 pp worth (had tastes of a couple of diff cakes so not a slice I could see) but I'd rather over count than under count it.

Anyone any suggestions on a good low point breakfast for before pilates? Was gonna do some scrambled eggs with tomatoes and then some fruit. And then have my nature valley bar after. After my dizzy spell last week wanna make sure I'm ok tomorrow! Can have a lighter dinner and lunch to compensate for using so many on breakfast.

Here's that recipe for chicken and cashew nuts.... it's super yum!

Chicken and cashew nuts
Takes 30 mins
Propoints per serving: 6
Serves 4
***********
Ingredients
1 teaspoon sunflower oil
40g cashew nuts, halved
2 teaspoons sesame oil
2 carrot, peeled and cut into thin batons
150g baby corn, cut into thirds
100g mange tout, halved
2 garlic cloves, sliced
A bunch of spring onions, cut into 2.5cm lengths, reserving some, sliced finely, to garnish
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon dry sherry
300 ml chicken stock
1 tablespoon cornflour

Heat the sunflower oil in a wok and gently brown the cashew nuts. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside.
Coat the chicken in the sesame oil, then tip into the hot wok and cook for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned.
Add the carrots, baby corm, mange tout and garlic and stir fry for 2 minutes.
Stir in the spring onions, soy sauce and sherry and cook for 1 minute.
Return the cashew nuts to the wok, add the chicken stock, cover and simmer for 5 minutes.
Blend the cornflour with 1 tablespoon of cold water, then stir into the sauce until slightly thickened. Serve immediately.

Have had my best couple of food days for a good while today and yesterday. started a shiny new tracker yesterday, and tracked everything. was out for lunch with work, AND had friends over for dinner, but did quite well I think, and today was on a course, and rather than the scone everyone was having at break time, I had me a diet yoghurt and a banana... go me!!! Going to make a big effort with exercise over the next few days, as I'm off work for the weekend, and for the start of next week too.
It's been a while since I've felt this positive about it all!!!

I have oat bran every morning and it fills me up right until lunch - and that includes doing my daily cycle to work and pre-lunch run!

Soak 30g of oat bran in 1 cup of water overnight. Then in the morning, add a drop of vanilla essence to it and boil it up, stirring constantly, for about 3 minutes. In the mean time mash up a banana with some cinnamon. When the oat bran is all cooked, transfer it into a bowl and mix in the banana. It's so filling and tasty and only 3pp!

I used to have porridge but I found the texture to be too slimy and grainy at the same time. I also found it wasn't providing me with enough fibre. Oat bran has a lovely smooth, creamy, texture and is naturally sweet so you won't need to add sweetener or honey. It's packed full of protein too which you will need if you're going to be exercising.

As soon as you're finished your pilates, have some berries (grapes/blueberries/strawberry/raspberry mixture) with some fat free natural yoghurt (the Onken one is only 1pp for 150g) to replenish your sugars and give you a good protein blast.

Hi Cosmic. I gave porridge a million chances because I heard people rant and rave about how filling it was and I really wanted to like it and tried it with loads of different things and loads of different ways but I hated it. I am a big texture eater so am wondering, do you think I would like oat bran? I like quite sweet things and would even put sweetener on cornflakes etc.

:D

Yeah I used to do what you do! I used to go all the way home (other side of the city), have my dinner and then drive back to the other side of the city for the gym - I soon got sick of that! I just couldnt pick myself up off the couch to go to the gym once I had had my dinner:o

I was making excuses about going after work for ages and then when I thought about it I realised that I was capable of waiting an hour or so for dinner - so I finish work at 5 - takes about 10/15 mins to drive to gym and I'm out again an hour later so home for around 6.45/7.00 - have my dinner then! Working a treat....at the moment anyway...:pac:

Me too! I used to eat it on days when I needed my pps for the evenings but I never enjoyed it.

I think so! The consistency is kind of similar to porridge but it's not slimy and the bits in it are tiny so it's not horribly grainy. If you mix the mashed banana and cinnamon in after you've transferred it into a bowl the texture is just lovely. I know Flahavans do one but I use Odlums. It's only about €1.75 in most supermarkets for a 500g bag. Try it and let me know how you get on :)

Day 4 and I'm going okay. Been cutting myself short a point or two every day to make up for a lack of exercise. Also trying not to use any weeklies, both with the hope of shocking my body a bit..
