Why have you given up in the past? Following the pro points system works, it simply works. Have you stuck to the plan rigidly?? It always annoyed me to see my sister not completely stick to plan or allow a bad day to turn into a bad week, then blame the system for being too restrictive.

I went from eating half a packet of biscuits with a cup of tea and massive portions of unhealthy dinners (just because its not always chips doesnt stop it being unhealthy) to eating smaller portions of healthy meals overnight. I have never been hungry and always allow myself treats as long as they are within my points. As a result I have only had one week where I stayed the same. Just stick with it! It took me over 6 weeks to notice my clothes getting baggier but once that happened it was a massive motivational boost!

I know the plan works i am not blaming the plan otherwise i would not have rejoined. The problem is me and sticking to the plan. Due to an underlying condition it is harder for me to lose weight which can be very frustrating when you see your friends etc losing it so much quicker with less effort. I need to learn that it is going to take longer for me to lose it and just be ok with that and know that I WILL lose it.....eventually :)
Day one of the Simple Start Plan today....not really loving it. It is very like the Slimming World plan (which was what I was trying to get away from lol.). Roll on next week when I can start back on ProPoints:D

I'm back, I used be a regular poster here about 12 months ago & think it's probably been a full year since I've done WW properly, was trying to follow operation transformation the past few wks and lost 8lbs and that program comes to an end today. This is the spooky bit, last night I checked my emails and there was an email from my leader saying come back to class and i was so happy. It was exactly what I needed and got me thinking I do genuinely struggle to stay on track without going to the meetings so made the decision to jump back on the horse and go back to class tonight. I probably would have kept putting it off if I hadn't got that email but it just made me think! Feeling motivated, reading all the stories here about people nearly at goal and the great weight loss's everyone is achieving it's so motivating. I have a good 2 stone to get to my goal but hoping with hard work and the support from here that I can finally knuckle down and do it! :D

really happy to have someone else to join us. 2 stone is definitely achievable for sure. I rejoined in mid November after a good time off it, and have since lost a total of 19lbs so far (not including tomorrows weigh in). I am very determined to get down another 3 stone! and like you too, am hoping that hard work and the support from in here and at my meetings will help me get there. I remember hearing at a meeting before 'the only difference between someone who is sitting here at goal, and you, is time - because following the plan works, it just takes time, the weight didn't go on over night' - i try to think of that when i am feeling impatient and it helps me to remember to just stick to it and it can't NOT work!

best of luck with 2n and fair play for following the OT already - you are obviously commited to getting healthier and i don't think you have anything to worry about - just keep going!! :-)

I'm rejoining too. Is there a way we can just start with counting the points instead of simple start?

Hey metime I pointed these a few weeks ago on the wheely thingy (which I still use all the time!) and they were 3pp which I'd believe as they're pretty big crumpets but sooo yummy! But someone in class mentioned crumpets were 2pp so I pointed Kingsmill on weightwatchers.ie and when I put in the info per crumpet I got 3pp, but when I put in info for 100g and then portion size (48g) I got 2pp - so I've been pointing at 3pp (even though Kingsmill are WAY smaller than McCloskey). Hope that helps!

I never buy the egg white stuff - just way too expensive! TBH I end up dumping the egg yolks most of the time. :o Terrible I know but economical. And I often get eggs from a neighbour so have WAY too many going around. You can of course pop the yolks in a freezer bag and freeze them til you need them. But there's only so many frozen yolks a person needs. The main things I use yolks for are making shortbread and brushing the top of pastry...basically the things I'm trying to AVOID doing as much as possible these days!!!

Had a brain wave this morning and sliced a mc closkeys in half down the middle - made a 'bap' out of it that way and had a breakfast sandwich 'muffin' with it. Is 1pp less than having 2 sunblest crumpets. Though I must say teh texture is a bit dense in the mccloskeys - feels like a real treat having it as they are so big!

i did NOT know ye could freeze egg yolks! that is great to know, just got some freezer bags yesterday, will keep it mind next time i'm making omlettes. I do love a bit of shortbread i must say... will have to look some egg yolk uses up - could use them in birthday baking for a friend or something like that, i can never throw them out i'd feel guilty

you can do whatever you want! SS is not mandatory - it is just there to make the transition easier for you, I think. It is really good, though and I suggest you try it for the benefit of your health. Go and talk to your leader see what they say?

My leader asked us all to try the Simple Start for the first week to see how we get on as a lot of people find it brilliant. I just dont think it is for me, it might work really well for you. They dont actually give you the porpoints book until ur second week now.You then have the choice to either stay on the SS plan or to use the PP plan. Best of luck :D

This week has not gone well! But it's so hard to guage because I don't know what my points are exactly. On maintenance it's trial and error for the first month so she added on points for me and I've gone way way over :( out for dinner tonight too.

How would you point veggie lasagne from a canteen? I'm thinking 10?

Ah right, didnt realise that there was an underlying issues, yeah I wouldn't even look at something like the simple start, I know I need a structure.

My sister is on Slimming World over a month now, she has lost no weight so ever yet!

1.5lbs down yesterday bringing me to my lowest weight yet. I'm thrilled because I had been staying in or around the same weight since before Christmas. 1lb more to my fourth stone and 8lbs in total to goal! :D

Always read this thread and never post so thought I should contribute! Was -3 this week, giving me my third silver seven. Has taken since last March (!!) but I'd rather it off than on.

Got out my bike and cycled to work today. Love the feeling when the plan is workin for ya! Getting married next April so lots of time to lose more and maybe at a quicker pace than I have been (hopefully!)

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Hi a quick question for anyone who is following the SS plan. In the book it says that you can have popcorn as a snack but it says to be made in a pot with a small amount of oil. Just wondering if anybody knows whether you could have a packet of Manhattan popcorn instead seeing as it is airpopped?

-1lb at weigh in and am a bit bummed about it if truth be told. It was first week of SS and i hardly set a foot wrong doing it. Am feeling a bit fed up, and it doesnt help that other people in the class were losing 4,5 and even 6lb doing it.
I don't really know what i'm doing amiss, i was expecting more. i have let it made me feel bad. Ive had weeks with takeaways and cakes where ive lost more. I feel lost now esp as i followed plan and had only 2extra treats one of the days?
    Not a drop of alcohol.

As this is second week it means 49pp are back. Terrified of them right now.
I don't know what to do or how to approach the week. Also a bit annoyed as WW class is soooo busy and the leader has no spare time as there is a queue outside straight away. I wanted to talk to her but felt it would be a nuisance.

    Any input would be appreciated!

Hi Metime, Don't feel bad a pound down is brilliant, It happens to all of us that you might have a week where you have been really good and go down very little or stay the same and then you can have a bad week and have a big loss. You never know it might come off next week, that happens sometimes aswell. Anyway all losses are good no matter how small they are:)

I know how you feel. I lost a pound doing ss too and then the same week a woman lost 7!! I was really disheartened. Especially because I found it a challenge to adjust to. Don't worry every pound is a step in the right direction. Try week 2 and then you're back on points anyway. You're so determined that I know you'll get there.

Making some minestrone soup now for lunch tomorrow.
I used red peppers, onions, garlic, courgettes, carrots, tinned tomatoes, dried herbs and stock.
    Hope it's nice.

I was such a good girl today while out shopping. I usually throw treats into the trolley, alongside all the healthy stuff, but instead of crisps and chocolate, I picked up some 0% Greek yogurt, frozen berries and more salady things than normal.

Determined to have a really good week :)

feeling a bit better about it now.
and you are right, at least it is another pound gone. i will give week two a go - going to re read the plan and shopping list / book to remind myself of it all. bit apprehensive about this week but will stick to the plan and try it or i'll never know. i would really like to be down more than 1lb next week. at this stage im just not even going to worry about it i will just make good decisions and stay in it though. looking forward t using some weeklies ..but honestly think i will feel guilty if i do ...agh. but anyway! thanks! getting a walk in here, and will prep my lunch again for 2m

I just want to thank ye kind people on this forum.

Three weeks ago I was on here totally depressed frustrated and on the brink of leaving WW. You all supported me brilliantly and thankfully was down 1.5lbs last week and 4lbs this week. Total loss since rejoining on 23rd Jan is 11lbs.

    Sooooooo happy !!!!!! :)

Hi everyone, haven't wrote in a couple of weeks, everyone is doing really well was down half a pound this week which I was happy enough with, only 14 more till goal! My daughter is nibne months in 5 weeks and I wanted to be at my pre pregnancy weight by then so another 5 poubds to go so its doable fingers crossed! Loving the filling and healthy but using all my 49 on alcohol so I will have to change that with
    healthier options!

hiya, thanks for the reply. no that makes perfect sense i dont think i was very clear. i followed week one exactly, but on one day had 4 treats worth. drank more water too. am just a bit lost as to why i didnt get a better result. i felt full and content all week, though and ate fresh, good food. my mood swings are under control and as i said it feels my blood sugar has levelled so the one pound loss in hindsight seems like a bonus on top of those other much more important health achievements. and tbh, 1 poundd is amazing who am i kidding. its just the fact tht it was week one of ss and i felt like there was big promises made and i was kind of expecting a miracle i guess.
back in REALITY- i havent touched a morsel of take out food in a couple of weeks now. this is a huge improvement for me. i also noticed i didnt flly off the rails and eat all around me after wi as a 'reward' for my 'good loss' this evening - which ive done in the past, sounds so silly now but hey! it happened where id 'celebrate' just because. i find im replacing what were once food rewards with other much more wholesome and fulfilling rewards for my liffe and putting the energy there instead. its good.

instead of usual apres wi gorging, i got out for a nice long walk there and got some fresh air, didnt bring the euro for a can of fizzy, and enjoyed the walk a lot.
i have good food in for the week again. had a run last night, week 9 day 1 of couch to 5k. no plans for drinking this wkend and have a hill walk planned for sat, a walk on monday and will try sprinkle a little more in there if i can. would like to finish couch to 5k plan this week and get a swim in if i can. i have a big celebration next week that i am very much looking forward to and id really really like to enjoy it guilt free knowing ive worked my butt off in the run up to it (punintended) .

thanks for the replies tonight folks was down earlier over it but feeling a hell of a lot better now. x

im such a saddo, im really looking forward to my simple start ketchup, quorn sausage and egg bap pre hill walk on sat. ha.
