Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

But sure getting the ride's great exercise. I count it as my 30 minutes of cardio.

Except he doesn't tell people to have less sex at all, does he?

He asks for the HSE to not buy as much Viagra for people.

How many seats have the Green Party got?

I wonder why, shower of Plankers.

Yup. He says that the HSE should cut back Viagra and people should be required to source their own supply privately.

Although you should never let the truth get in the way of a catchy headline.

Pulmonary hypertension. The councillor is pretty ignorant for assuming he knows the reason for the prescription. Besides, even if it is for sex, it's pretty callous of him to suggest that people who want some semblance of a healthy sex life are taking from those who he considers more deserving.

"The figures show that Limerick city and county has the highest public spend on Viagra and other erectile dysfunction drugs in the HSE West area."

I reckon a lot of people in AH can just carry on as usual.

Such a tabloid trash article. He did not say that at all.

Erectile Dysfunction is a serious illness. The strain it can put on relationships/marriages can be immense. I think looking at it from a "they just want the ride" is missing the whole emotional/health side of sex.

Also they are commonly prescribed to patients who have to take strong medication for mental illness such as depression/OCD/anxiety. Do they not deserve a healthy sex life just because their medication interferes with their ability to achieve an erection? It's easy to see how stressful and upsetting this could be to someone who is already struggling with a mental illness.

Medical card patients would struggle to purchase Viagra/Cialis privately as the lowest strength starts at €50 euro and can go up to near €100 for the higher strengths.

We really do have an inordinate amount of numpties in political positions in this country.

Another thing.....these stats are looking at 2010, and comparing them to 2009. Why the fcuk are 2011 figures not available?? We're over half way through this year already. This, again, is another very 'Irish' story!

There are lots of things that should be cut before the ride, let's not go nuts.

yeah I like a bit of partially unjustified green bashing before noon

Before you begin your Green Party bashing just remember in the face of the greatest financial crisis this country ever experienced they took up invaluable Dail time pushing through legislation on dog breeding & stag hunting.
After that critical legislation was passed they still found time to vote through the bank guarantee.

Lets never forget the great Greens, really, never.

So you are referring to me as a numpty? Good modding.

I read the article......and bypassed the ridiculous headline. I'm sure there are a million different things the HSE can cut back on as well as / instead of drugs that quite obviously are used to treat some seriously traumatic conditions (ED).

The way it comes across, it's like he is saying "shur jaysus if he wants an erection that bad he'll pay for it, he only wants the ride after all".

And what kind of thread-title editing is that??

I'm no fan of the indo, but you surely can't label it that? I would have guessed that's exactly the kind of thing that gets this site in a spot of legal bother?

Why should the AH community have to look at a heading like that, just because you don't like a particular establishment?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,969 ✭✭✭hardCopy

I find it bizarre that the HSE have picked a random number on the amount of times someone is entitled to have sex.

Do they cap the number of painkillers that can be obtained on the medical card? Or the maximum dosage of insulin available to diabetes sufferers?
