Divorce: Entry of appearance??

    Hi,
    I am in the process of going through a divorce application and I have just found out that my ex has lodged an "Entry of Appearance".

    Does anybody know what this means?

    It's where the solicitor for either side of a case tell the court formally (on the record) that they are answering the court's summons.

    Great, thanks. When I googled it I was getting explanations like it means they are contesting the divorce!! :-(

    A entry of appearance only says to the court, yes I have received the family law civil bill and i am dealing with the matter either myself or here is my solicitors name, so no issue of service can arise. They will if they wish to contest the divorce have to file a defense.
