Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

I am a roman catholic and I would like to know how do you convert to buddhism?

Are there any budda churchs? It looks like a cool religion.

    Thanks for help.

How is a good way to start the whole Zen thing you hear tommy tiernan on about ? He seems to be starting a dali lama trend in ireland amound young people :)

You don't convert just like that. We've got standards to keep. We gotta stay cool.

First read - see the 'Suggested Reading' thread.
Second, attend teachings by authentic teachers. Listen and learn
Third, practice meditation; understand through experience based on guidance.
    Fourth, keep going.

When it's not cool any more, then you can join.

That’s what I thought, Buddhism does not care if you practice other religions or not, believe in God or not etc.

I thought it sounded humorous without taking itself too seriously. It can be hard to get an answer to a simple question in the Buddhist forum its so slooooooow.
