Boards League S16

mar-z

So, start of a new season of Boards league action. For newcomers (and those not paying attention previously) this competition is a straight league format starting in week 1 and ending in week 14 of any given season. You will have a match every week on a Thursday. Remember Thursday friendlies have no effect on energy or ranking points so everyone can always give their all. Point structure is 4 points for a win, 2 for a draw and 0 for a loss. Bonus points are awarded for scoring 4 tries or more and/or losing by 7 points or less in a game. Non-acceptance of a fixture will result in a 20-0 bonus point win for the team that accepted and 2 points will be deducted from the non-accepting team.

There are currently 5 divisions in the competition and you can gain promotion to the division above or demotion to the division below for the following season's comp by finishing in the top or bottom two places in your division this season. You also have a secured place in the competition if you wish (there will be the sign up thread at the end of the season). The top 3 teams in each division earn a trophy.

If anyone wishes to help keeping track of a league or organising fixtures let me know.

Edit: Oh and remember to double check game times as some teams are based in different time zones.

So just to clarify, Thursday fixtures, do your players get experience / in game training from those games? And it doesn't affect energy? So can you play all of them LTNT?

Really looking forward to this, a nice addition to existing matches that are too few and far between! I accepted all of my games, suprised to see them all listed as one competition in the game, is there an in game trophy for your cabinet if you win the league??

No experience or training, doesn't affect energy and you have no choice but to play them at Normal.

Div 3 fixtures are now up.

Jackass Thursday friendlies take place in an alternate br reality and will have no effect on anything outside of the game itself and this comp. Also for Thursday friendlies the match engine takes all players energy to be the same so you can ignore energy when deciding your team for these matches.

There are trophies for places 1-3 in each division.

Edit2: Div 1 weeks 1-4 fixtures are up. It will be Sunday or Monday before I get a chance to finish it. Of course a volunteer is always welcome.

One or two teams had to be shifted due to teams pulling out and newer teams being around. MM were the strongest of the teams that could be shifted up (based on ranking, last years boards league performance and my judgement).

Not ideal but you only missed out on promotion by 4 points last season so your not that far behind at least a couple of the teams.

First games of the season tonight and for what I think is the first time we have 100% fixture acceptance going into week 1. Thanks everyone!

Also make sure you note that there are 4 teams based abroad in the comp and that their home games will take place at a different time then the rest. So try not to get caught out!

Currently 5 hours behind: Toronto Irish and Edmonton Eggchasers (ko at 12.35am Irish time for home games)

Ahead one hour: Newcastle West (ko 6.35pm Irish time) - Hopefully Ladyboys will see this for this evening.

And actually turns out Namibia is the same timezone as here so Lunster being based abroad has no effect.

Decent star advantage over MWSAG so hopefully can see an opening win at home there.

My affiliates EE are at a half star disadvantage away to Blue Magic in div V so that should be a good one.

My debut in the comp and I'm 18 - 10 down at half time to Edmonton Eggchasers. Haven't threatend much, can't see myself pulling this one back unless stamina comes in. Great to see where you are though against teams of similar ability. Let's me know I've a lot of work to do!
