Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

A really handy test for any diamond is to put it on a metal surface and hit it really hard with a hammer. If it smashes into a thousand pieces, it was a diamond
The name diamond is derived from the ancient Greek "adamas" meaning unbreakable

A much better test for diamonds is to put it in a fire

You are clearly not hitting them hard enough, try a bigger hammer. It took me several goes on each, just to be sure. BTW, I had one ring left so I fecked it into the range - you're right, it must be a real one as the stone looks fine. I'm struggling to find where the feckin band has gone to though.

it could just be a manufactured one though, in which case it's pretty much worthless, or a chemically altered one which is also worth less than normal :)

This is true enough, blue stones can be very unsettling. I took a long ride on a bicycle once in the depths of winter, blue was not the word for them. It took a pint of strong Horlicks and copious hot water to restore normality. Traumatic.
