In the last few days I've decided to pick up my my camera for the first time in months. So last night I went out and tried my hand at some long exposures.

I'm not too experienced with them so I'd like to hear your comments on them. I was particularly undecided on post processing and how to approach it so I've ended up with a few variations of each (more on pix.ie that I didn't want to clutter this post with) but any comments would be much appreciated :)

    Thanks in advance

be better if you had a subject in the foreground. my favourite one is #3

I'm also drawn to #3 from the set.

There is almost a surreal feel to them which I like. As breadbin says, they may need something to give a point of interest.

You are onto something which could make for a really interesting photography project so keep at it. Perhaps a series of locations on a similar style with an interconnecting point of interest.

Thanks for the replies. I was considering putting something in the foreground but it seemed a bit out of place when the focus was intended to be more about the scene. Anything I had on me would have seemed a little "there for the sake of it". Also, thanks for the encouragement. I am pleasantly surprised with how they turned out and I'm looking to try get myself into it a little bit more

I love #3. Excellent considering it was your first! The fish eye style makes it unique too.Keep it up :)

I rather like #2, though would do better if it was slightly brighter.

    3 is a good photo.

I'm not gone on the fisheye overall. It does give the feeling of falling over or something in the photos. With the sky blurring you can get the sense of the world turning but I've actually gone off fisheye since getting a go pro camera. It serves a purpose and can look good but overall I think it's got limited visual appeal and it's hard to get a photo that looks as good as a normal photo because the distortion of the lens becomes the focus of the picture.

That's nothing against your photos, just a bit of a rant against fisheye. I think the shots would have looked better with a standard lens.
