Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Unlucky Adam (Morgan)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,524 ✭✭✭joe123

Morgan is constantly making runs off the shoulder. Seems a clever player movement wise anyways.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,698 ✭✭✭✭machiavellianme

    He's getting no support though

ya looks smart alright.he actually closes down and puts pressure on defenders unlike a lot of strikers.. bit isolated upfront tho.

With Downing, Cole and Adam I'm not surprised he's not getting much support.

This has been some awful half of football to watch.

See carragher give enrique a little shove after that lennon missed, enrique let lennon run off him, good to see carra letting him know about it

Cole and Adam just dont seem fit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,359 ✭✭✭stampydmonkey

that was downings fault. jogging about and not chasing his man. what is his story? won't beat players, won't track back. i know its preseason but youd think he put in a bit of effort

    How has siggi been playing?

Flanagan played well that half. Morgan looks sharp. That's the only positive I can take from it.

    Enrique looking dodgey again.

Completely agree. Thought Carra played well enough too. The rest were wretched.

    Kenny out :pac:

    Pros:
Passing it out of defence rather than hoofing it.
For the most part - short passes.
    Adam Morgan looks decent.
    Shelvey playing decent.

    Negatives:
    Charlie Adam
    Stewart Downing
    Joe Cole
Lack of pace in the final third.
    Morgan looks isolated.
Most of our passing has been in our own half.
    Enrique getting caught out.

god that was dull - never thought a pool game would make watching archery and shooting a tempting proposition

    The archery has been excellent.

Pity about the shooting (in both)

Well, one is a competitive competition and one is essentially a training session.

Morgan looks clever but a bit of a WUM while he's at it.
If he makes the cut as a footballer you could easily see him becoming the poster child for hatred of our club by other teams' fans.

I think people are expecting and concluding far too much from a pre-season friendly.

This game means nothing. Just an opportunity to improve fitness and practice (that means not perfected yet!) new ideas of manager.

Never mind the three errors that led to it eh, one by Carra himself.

Spearing is complete gash. Said it last Summer too, nowhere near good enough.

Obviously a fan of The Wire....expect him to roll out a 'What the f*ck did I do?' when the producer pulls him up on it.

    impressed by Sterling again

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,117 ✭✭✭✭Leiva

Ok I have changed my mind again.

Carroll has no place in the team under Rodgers, simple as .

A front line of Suarez -- Borini -- another would have a better closing down and defense than Carroll could ever contribute to.

He is simply too slow to defend from the front which is a key aspect to a Rodgers formation.

Jaysus, it was 35 degrees out there. I can barely even stuff my face with crisps at that temperature, never mind run around the place.

Hopefully the conditions will do them good for the season ahead.

    Fire sale at Malaga!

    Sid Lowe ‏@sidlowe
This is surreal. Reports now that Malaga's owners are negotiating sale ..... of the club

    Opr

Sterling and Shelvey have done their chances no harm of being more involved this season you'd hope.

I'd like to see less of Spearing, Carra, Adam and Cole. It depresses me to see them play.

I wouldn't judge too many on that game. Stifling heat and a 2nd string team that is in pre season.

I'd say Sterling will play hardly any part. In fact he should be loaned out.

Poor game, but to be expected in that heat.

Was impressed by Shelvey again, been the best player in these games.

no way should we trust our best young player to other coaches. He can play all our EL, FAC and CC matches and be a bench option for the league. Plus a minimum of 6 next gen matches. Plenty of football for him here.

Yup but it appears the oil boys have lost all interest. I read something that they used the club to get leverage with the area so they could build some port. Once done and dusted they wanted to drop the club like a hot potatoe.

Chance I could have dreamt all that but I am too lazy to look it up and it would be really weird if I was dreaming about Malaga.
