Depends on the model year.

if you have an older imac ( 2010 or before) then you can use a the mini display port and an adapter will cost 150 ish, but the newer models would need thunderbolt and the price for a solution would double ( was nothing out last time i looked).

Belkin and Kanex each have one but for the compatible imac they'll both be limited to 720p.
