Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

How much is a battery for an SV650?

Mine is toast now and won't hold a charge.
    Could it be the reg/rec?
    How would I check?

    Cheers.

If you have a multimeter then go through this flowchart, if you're lucky its just the battery. if it does turn out to be the r/r don't bother replacing it with an OEM one, look for a newer MOSFET based one.

A new battery will set you back between €40 and €60 depending on where you get it and the brand you get. Halfords have a good range but they're very pricey!!

For what its worth the AGM style batteries like Odyssey and MotoBatt are more expensive but a superior battery.
They are worth considering if you intend on keeping the bike for a while and using it over winter.

Where are you based? Matt_Keane from most of the forums sells Yuasa batteries at trade price. He'll also take your old battery and use it in a recycling scheme and the proceeds go to DSI AFAIK.

I picked one up for the Bandit for €35 as opposed to over €60 for one from Halfords.
