Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This POTW goes to ...... France! Yes France the country owns the copyright of this photo captured by gerk86, well I think that's the weird legal situation with the Eiffel Tower Lightshow. Good capture gerk86.

    Ah, delighted. Thanks!

Yes, the wrath of the French legal system will be brought upon me if I attempt to sell a print. Oh well.

It's a stacked image of 8 separate shots taken a second apart.

i've seen mention of photographers being instructed to take shots off websites too.

Apparently photos of the Eiffel tower taken by day are copyright feee - but once the lights come on the copyright 'switches on'.

Great shots - well done to all :)

Great work by all concerned. Anybody know the setting of maddog's photo? Looks like an interesting site.

Havn't seen maddog around for a while - wonder if he has gone on that US photo tour?

He didn't say on the originl post where it was - it was just entitled 'THE KEEP'.
Think he was down around Killarney in mid June - so it may be around there somewhere - just a guess.

Keps was on the right track. Seems to be Ross Castle in Killarney. poundhound has another good shot of it in the RPT: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=79917726&postcount=816

Hmmm... maddog, poundhound - I wonder does it have some kind of canine attraction?

Yes. Definitely Ross Castle. Been there quite a few times but always had poor light. Maddog has grabbed a perfect window. Bad weather = No Tourist in shot but been ready for that perfect light which only lasted a few minutes. Wonder if he buys tickets in the lottery too?
