Hi all, just a little update on what's happening in the world of Denon....so far.

Some of the latest products to arrive in and little bit of info about each with a few exclusive boards prices to go with it.

    Denon PMA520AE

    picture.php?albumid=1416&pictureid=13446

This is the new and improved version of the PMA510 which was a big seller for us and one that turntable users love as it has an on-board phono stage. It has 45 watts per channel (8 ohms), 5 other inputs, rigid chassis construction and sounds really good for the money.

The PMA520 has improved sound quality, newly-designed system remote control and is now more ECO friendly with low power consumption in stand by and auto power off. They have also upgraded the speaker terminals.

This new model comes in at £199.95 / €259.99 but as a special launch price for boardies, we can do it at £179.95 / €239.99. This puts it at the price of the old out-going model.

All-in all a nice new amplifier that would make a great "better than entry level" starter system for any hifi buff.

    Denon AVR1513

    picture.php?albumid=1416&pictureid=13447

This is Denon's latest in a long line of 5.1 receivers. This is their entry level receiver and while it may not have features and connections hanging out of it, it's surprisingly good on the sound quality front for both music and home cinema.

Compared to the previous 1512 model, this now features the new sophisticated yet pure product design which is a big improvement on the previous model. It now also features easier operation thanks to the graphical user interface which is now output over the HDMI connection. It has 3 + 1 (front) x HDMI inputs and 1 x HDMI output.

It has fully discrete, identical quality and power for all 5 channels (110 W x 5 ch) and features a stable power supply for high-quality sound and picture playback. This is where the audio quality is being driven from. As usual, it's 3D ready and also features the compressed audio restorer to enhance digital music files. That's good news for all you MP3, AAC etc users out there as it really improves the sound from compressed music.

Priced at £299.95 / €399.99 , with a boardies launch price of just £269.95 / €339.99 this is one of the best budget receivers that we have for both music and home cinema performance.

    Denon AVR1713

    picture.php?albumid=1416&pictureid=13448

The 1713 is the 1513's bigger brother and as there wasn't an AVR1712 model, this model is new to the range.

It features a very similar design to the 1513 but it adds some of the new networking features :

    - The Denon Remote App for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad is available free from the Appstore and is available on Android also.
    - This model features Airplay wireless music streaming (when connected to your home network).
    - Internet Radio and network audio/photo streaming via Ethernet
    - Last.fm and Flickr online support (availability depends on country)
    - FLAC HD, High-resolution audio format
    - DLNA 1.5 compatible

This models features the Audyssey setup which is not featured on the AVR1513 which makes setting up the receiver a lot easier. This model has improved connectivity with 5 + 1 (front) HDMI inputs and 1 x HDMI output.

This model also features a USB input for direct play from iphone, ipod or USB memory stick. For those of you with Android devices, these are compatible thanks to the DLNA support which allows for streaming from a PC or your phone.

This is a very well specified receiver and our usual price will be £399.95 / €529.99 but we have an initial launch price for boardies of £369.95 /€489.99.

    Denon AVR2113.

    picture.php?albumid=1416&pictureid=13449

This is the new version of the award winning AVR1912.

This new model has confused a few people due to the alteration in the model range, but we can assure you that it's a new and improved version of the 1912 with a few tweaks.

This new model provides considerable improvement in sound quality over the 1713 and moves up to 125 watts into all 7 channel with fully discrete power. It features a comprehensive network feature range similar to the 1713 including AirPlay, DLNA, Last FM, Flickr, internet radio etc but now features the new 4k video capability which is the latest video upgrade to HD resolution. This receiver also has the ability to be controlled by the iphone/android app like the 1713.

The 2113 has 1080p upscaling which means that any non HD source can be brought up to 1080p thanks to the A/D converter. This scaling is also taken to the next level with 4k video scaling (compatible video source required).

As this is a 7.1 receiver(unlike the 5.1 avr1713), the extra 2 channels also means this model supports Pro Logic IIz processing.

Again, this model supports HDMI with 3D and the audio return channel and also supports direct play for iPod and iPhone via USB. The 2113 features a
2nd Zone Multiroom-Multisource (powered by Surround Back amplifier) for connection another amp in another room to provide a mini multiroom system.

This model is currently £549.95 / €729.99 but we have these for a limited launch price of £499.95 / €659.99.

This might be a lot to take in on one post, but just think how I felt writing it, late on after a busy Saturday !

Hope this is helpful and as ever, if we can help with any queries or info, please get in touch.
