im interested in trying a tasting menu from one of the better restaurants in Dublin, I have seen the l'ecrivain menu which I like the look f. It looks to be selected dishes off the a la carte. Is this how it works ?

Are they full dishes ? Or a smaller dish based on the a la carte dishes ? Has anyone been to l'ecrivain to try the taster ? Can you recommend it?

    Thanks

I went recently and had the al a carte with 3 friends, the table beside us had the tasting menu, some of their dishes were very similar to ours, but not the same size.

I thought the food was great, wine was pricey, service on our night was hit and miss, took a long time for wine to come out and for us to put order in. and tables around us had a similar problem. There is also a 12.5% service charge.
