If you want to go low calorie with your alcohol intake then a whiskey and water is what you're after! (I think).

Don't really like the taste of all these Bud light/Coors light stuff. You're still going to get 'the bloat' with them.

Any of the 'light' beers - bud, miller coors etc. would be lower in calories than their regular equivalents but it is the alcohol itself that carries the most calories afaik.

As a result of the much higher ABV of whiskey, the calorie count for a measure is about 70 calories. A can of light beer is about the 100 mark (either side).

A 175ml glass of wine is about the same as a 330-355ml can of light beer.

Alcohol is not really for someone wanting to lose weight unless you make up for it with a lot of exercise.

    Erdinger Non Alcoholic has

0g of fat and 5.3g of Carbs per 100ml. It has vitamins, folic acids and protein in it as well so quite good for you.

    It's also Isotonic.

No Alcohol though so probably a bummer for you. :(

I have tried Coors Light and Bud Light but not very impressed with them.

Guinness, Murphy's, Beamish-any dry stout like that is technically a light beer, and unlike Bud/Coors/whatever else-light, WON'T taste like total piss!

What size of a can though? I think a 500ml is about 150kcal or so.

This is a problem when looking up info online. I have always found it extremely difficulty to get information on drinks due to the bizarre lack of legislation requiring them to declare ingredients and nutritional info. Even when you do find some on the manufacturers site it can be wrong!

Calorie Content of Bulmers / Magners

    KCAL VOLUME
    37 100ML
    122 330 ML
    210 PINT

    Calorie Content of Bulmers Light

    KCAL VOLUME
    28 100ML
    86 330 ML
    130 PINT
the bulmers light figures do not agree with each other. 28 per 100ml means a pint (568ml) would be 159kcal. And 330ml would be 92kcal.

Bulmers light is 24x500ml cans for 24 in tesco at the moment.

    Tesco list it as
Typical Values Typical values per 100ml: -
    Energy 115kj / 35KCALS

which would be 175kcal per 500ml

    and
    28 100ML =140kcal per 500ml
    86 330 ML = 130kcal per 500ml
    130 PINT =114kcal per 500ml

Recipes and % will change around the world too.

This is a long collection of posts I made on the subject before http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=57902740&postcount=10
