Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Listening to Matt Cooper today, he is the perfect example of what I'm on about.

When saying goodbye to 2 contributors, he says "thanks to boat of you" (can't say "both")

Yet when talking about Daley Thompson he adds in a 'Th' that isn't there. Its pronounced "Tomson", yet he says something like 'thomg" (so strange I can't even come up with a spelling for what he said).

    How hard is it?

The British have it too with some accents. They say "th" as "f" at times. So I fink you're jusve being a bit insulting towards the oirish.

    I can. But I often don't.

However if I were doing an ad, I would - wouldn't want to be suffering the same "faith" as Aoife from Axa (i.e. the ad being discontinued very shortly after it first aired).

My brother pronounces his 'th' with his tongue on his upper lip. It wrecks my head. I pronounce it with my tongue on my upper front teeth.

    Just one of those things!

Some English people say Nofink instead of Nothing. I think that's much worse.

Oh Oh! When we're talking about mispronouncing words. Anyone notice the word safety being pronounced safe-ah-tee. They had an ad campaign with Ray Darcy and then Mickey Joe Feckin Harte on tv years ago both of those eejits mispronounced. Last I saw it was De Burghs daughter and at least she can say it right.

    Other ones. House=Howz. His=He's, specific=Pacific, us=uzz

Um, is your brother in baby infants? Its a simple sound, I don't see the problem unless some people have an accent that makes it difficult. I know a good few people that don't pronounce it actually, most don't have a bad accent, although one lad is from Offaly.

If you look closely you'll see that it is, in fact, there.

(hint: Look between the " " and the "o")

No he just thinks it makes him sound posh. He also says pacific instead of specific. Does my nut in

A friend of mine talked about the things she and her brudder used to do. She'd say things like me and my brudder went for a walk or that she had to wait for her brudder. I really thought brudder was some exotic Irish dog breed.

Minister for State Kathleen Lynch is awful at pronouncing her "th"s, it's all "tis tat tese and tose".

Apparently you can make an American or English girl cum by just saying "Turty tree and a turd"......gives them a right fanny tsunami :pac:
