Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hey all,

Heading to South Africa on business and will have a few days in Kruger park. Was looking for advice, particularly with regard to equipment. I'm sure space will be at a bit of a premium, so I has hoping to confine things to my 60D body and maybe two lens - a decent telephoto and a moderate wide-angle.

I'm thinking perhaps the Sigma 120-400mm (which I'd need to shell out for) and a 17-40mm L. I wouldn't want to miss anything, but I'm not too sure how close the animals will really be - reading up on it, it seems they can be sufficiently close that a telephoto would be overkill!

Anybody any thoughts? Has anyone any experience with the 120-400mm Sigma?

Im not sure about the Sigma, but it will give you plenty of reach on a 60d,
I used the 100-400 canon L on my 5dii in Namibia and it was fantastic.

one of my fav shots ...

I also had the 17-40 for landscape shots, was fine ... plenty of width ...

Hi TelePaul, Just wondering what lens did you go for in the end as I'm heading on safari next year too, I want to get a suitable lens now so that I'm familiar with it by the time I travel.

@ the monkey...super shot of the lion :)
