Question about refunds to laser card

    Hi there,

    I received my new Visa Debit card yesterday (thanks for that) but I'm wondering if I need to wait to activate it.

    I had a refund of money to my laser card processed on Monday but it has not hit my account yet. If I activate my Visa Debit card (de-activating the laser card) will this cause an issue for the refund going through?

    Hi Grudle,

    Thanks for contacting us.

    You can activate your Visa Debit card straight away in any Bank of Ireland ATM. Activating the Visa Debit will deactivate the Laser Card but that won't cause an issue with your refund as the refund is to your current account rather than your card.
