Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

To their credit, the Koreans took some exceptional penalties.

Sturridge, why did you check your run? That's illegal anyway and should have been retaken.

It's not illegal. You can stutter, which is what he did. It's only illegal to stop completely the way Ronaldo used to.

Sturridge, wtf were you expecting? Stopping your run just allows keeper to read you.

you just knew sturridge was gonna bottle it.

    Bye Bye Pearce :D

Sorry, but I hate him. Awful coach.

    Honestly I have never seen 5 better peno's .

They were super efficient, and hard.

Its like those penaltys came off a production line. Looked like they could take them like that all night.

I just assumed the little feckers would be a bunch of terrified rabbits caught in the headlights but 8/9 out of 10 of the pens were top notch.

The Korean goalie was called BUMYOUNG :D:D:D

    Ok, it amused me

Nice irony that a Scottish based player scored the winning penalty to knock Team GB out. Maybe Pearce will regret overlooking the young talent up there

Delighted for the Korean team. I thought before the tournament they would do well but they have done better than I expected. Hopefully they can get past Brazil.

    ?

Daniel Sturridge that missed the peno.

Now now. Don't let the facts get in the way of a good slagging. Or even a bad one

    Wrong and wrong.
    2 players bottles it.

    1. Ramsey. Two poor penalties in the first half. One of which was lucky to go in. The other saved.

    2. Sturridge. Soft penalty. Why can't he do the simple things. That ridiculous run up and stop is so annoying and does not work. Drill it low and hard.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,890 ✭✭✭✭klose

Jesus ramseys penelties were brutal, very lucky that the first one scraped in, ya just knew he wasent gonna score the second one.
Did giggs come on as a sub? Some use it was selecting him just because he never got to play a major tournament, didn't even start the last 2 games. I like giggs and all but pearce could have used the 3 over aged players rule to better effect

My bad - Sturridge and Danny Welbeck are two players I keep getting confused in my head and Welbeck wasn't even in the squad! :o

He deserves credit though for stepping up and taking another in the penalty decider.

Yeah and it was a good penalty during the shootout too in fairness.

However, after 70mins yesterday Ramsey should have been replaced. He had no legs left at all. He was trying but they were gone.

    I think it's 3p.m

I'm heading to the match tomorrow, so fingers crossed it's a goal-fest!

I haven't caught any of Mexico's games so not sure what to expect from them - but looking back over their results, the 3 clean sheets in the group games suggests they may not be too shabby defensively.

They had a very handy group and Brazil should win this with a little to spare, still, cup final so you never know!

Hope its a great game with at least 1 goal for Damaio just to be safe :)
