    "is it a detached house?"

wtf has that got to do with anything???? Or is Joe wondering if he might pick up a property bargain there??

Joe wants to know how innocent he is. The more well to do, the more innocent. Detached house means he's innocent. Electric gates means she asked for it. A brand new range rover means she should actually be in jail.

Mr duffy and his ham fisted approach to delicate subjects is not really the place for this kind of story.

    Asking pointless questions..sigh.

[joesph is asking us to have sympathy with a woman who a gave her rapist husband a character reference. I wonder did she give it before or after he shared his million euro pension with her.

Joe is talking about the charity work again! As if it makes a difference. Why the hell should this guys sentence be any different to a guy who wears a tracksuit from Finglas who did the same thing?

    lol :D

I noticed originally there was the term "his electric gates" was used pejoratively... Sounds like she wasnt too unhappy to see the ostensibly successful man being brought down a peg or two..

"His wife walked in the next day Joe as if nothing happened"

Yeah, cos you know the way married lads can help going home to the missus bragging about how they've raped a woman the previous night.

Is he still together with the wife? I'm not sure I'd stick around myself...

Suspended sentence is the stupidest thing ever. Seems like it's a way for a judge to think he's done his job without filling up a space in prison.

fine bit of stuff she is. not much moral character though.

Living with a rapist/not having lots of money, hmm that's a toughie!

I think the victim's father knew exactly what he was doing by turning up at Lyon's house (and fair play to him)
He drew more media attention to the case/sentencing and now a lot more people know exactly where Lyons lives and what his house looks like.
Whatever upset Lyon's family go through is the fault of the attacker, no-one else.
Joe was annoying today, he seemed to be trying to gain some public sympathy for Lyons.

    Judge gives ridiculous prison sentence.
    Joe presents ridiculous radio show.

Sean Spud picks up the bill for both men.

Very mixed emotions with that show - from the sheer anger at Joe plugging that dirtbag's charity work at every opportunity to the, shameful on my part, laughing at the oul lad's long winded tale.

Those words that every radio listener dreads ... "with Claire Byrne".. RTE may as well just shut down for the Summer.
