Getting psyched up for today's show.

    Any subject thoughts?

    Suicide-by-death

Maybe he has the wellies on, Ploughing Fair starts today, Joe will probably be delivering the Farm Safety notes during the show. And getting a few tragic tales of those who ended up inside combine harvesters (cue the bailed out puns)

Please Jesus let it be a bit more positive today, if it weren't for the kick I get from this thread, I doubt I'd tune in at all!

And you know it's a very worthy topic of discussion but does it really have to be everyday? Joe must have a least a week with it now. One full show with experiences and professional prevention groups would do it much more justice than Joe's shaking head, tutting, misery fest indulgence.

Yes, I expect them to call in and say...

"Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me"

    ....and rapidly hang up.

I can imagine the next time somebody throws 10k on the table in front of them and hands them the picture of some scumbag... They will recoil in horror and say.. "Ah no, I'm not doing that again, not after what RTE News said about me the last time".

    ah the poor judges.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,718 ✭✭✭✭JonathanAnon

Judges.. the new oppressed... The only reason they could possibly be under pressure on their wages is if they invested badly.... It is ridiculous to try and portray any of them as being in similar situation to the average working man.. They have huge wages, certainty of work, and certainty of a very large pension.. They deserve no sympathy..

Ploughing championship today. Will Joe be on or will it be Damien? I can imagine the conversation

Joe:"Im going to the ploughing championship"
DG:"Actually Damo says he wants to go. Him being, you know, into that sort of thing, and you know, knowledgeable"
Joe:"Director-general, thats all very well, but Im the star! I'll draw the crowd"
DG:"Very well, we'll put PBH covering laiveline"
Joe:"Nooooo! Not PBH. He wants my job DG! He's evil!"
DG:"Right so, Damo, despite being an agricultural correspondent, quite a good one in fairness, move your high seat into Joes booth and do Liveline. Joe you can go to the championship"
Joe:"Now where are me gold wellies"
