    Back of the envelope calc - if he "works" 200 days a year (40 weeks, 5 shows a week), at 400k a year that's €2k a day. If you add in the research he most likely does each day to his 75 minutes' presenting time, that's about 80 minutes' work, so approx €25 a minute, or €0.41 per second. Even if he never slept and researched for the other 22hrs 45 mins in a day, he'd still be earning €83.33 an hour. Not bad if you can get it!

    It would be interesting to see the listenership figures for the nonsense that pasees for humour on these so called funny shows.

    If the polls on previous Liveline threads are anything to go by, its likely there is a nationwide switch off at 13.45 on the last Friday of every month.

    If a few people find it funny, who am I to deny them their monthly fix.
    I just find it embarrasing and tasteless to the point where I resent paying a licence to fund an overpaid presenter and his cronies making a fools of themselves and the country when there are more talented comedians out there in need of a break.
