    It is a shame to see the decline of the thatched house in Ireland.

    There are thousands of thatched houses and pubs in England all well kept and attracting tourists.

    I used to live next door to a lovely one in London.

    How can they get things so right over there while we seem to fuk everything up ?

    The difference is that those are purely money spinners for Cowell, ITV, RTE etc.

    Acts are vilified and ridiculed.

    Tops of the Town was a variety show that had the local community at heart. I personally couldn't stand it, but its heart was in the right place.
