My son whacked my tv screen and now the LCD has a star shaped crack ( the glass is not broken) and there are lines of random colours across the screen. Does anyone know anywhere in GS or Bray where I could get this fixed and what sort of price to expect? Or should I just give up and buy a new TV?

I don't know about greystones or bray but if you google tv repair a few in Dublin will collect for added charge.

I have used these guys in rathcoole

For a number of Samsung displays but not cracked screens. I was charged around 250 euros just to replace power packs but as the screen were 1000 each it was worth it.
I am sure if you called they would say if it is worth doing or not.

A friend had the same problem with his LCD and his insurance wrote it off and paid up for a new tv.

replace it on the insurance, cost of replacing the lcd vs a new tv will be minimal.
