Postgraduate Registration Fee

    Hi there,

I'll be starting the masters in Public Relations this September and just had a question about the registration fee. The postgraduate course itself costs roughly €6,000. I see on the fees page that the entire course fee will be €8,150, with the add on of the €2,250 registration fee.

I was told by someone else that I will not have to pay the registration fee as a result of doing a postgrad course while also being entitled to the fee grant associated with postgrad courses. Can anyone shed a bit of light on this for me please?:)

    Thanks

What?! I really think you've been misinformed there. I did a one year masters last year and it cost roughly the same. Whether or not you were entitled to it before, you're definitely not entitled to it now as postgraduate funding has been done away with (I'm *nearly* certain of that). I do know that you can claim a grand back in tax, you just have to get a letter from the college saying you paid your fees and submit that along with some tax form.

But to answer your query, I think what you've been told is bull.
