Hi, I'm a mature student of DCU. I'm very clean and tidy person so I need clean place to live...I'm on Back to Education Allowance, so I need rent allowance to be accepted. I'm looking for a place on ground floor, D7,8,9,11...

this one is not on ground floor (I see what is behind the window:) and also rent is to high, I'm looking for something max 475, because maximum limit for rent allowance is 475.

€400 a month, ground floor, pets allowed http://www.daft.ie/3685953

Goto http://www.daft.ie/shortterm/ select "advaned search", select "Pets Allowed", max of €450 rent, and non-owner occupier, somewhere in Dublin.

thanks for your help, but I'm not interested in living with anybody, this one is bedroom, not studio and is to far:)I know very well daft, and adds on daft:)

€110 a month http://www.daft.ie/21235875 - from the picture of the stairs, it looks like it's on the ground floor.

    €80 a week http://www.daft.ie/21239765 only if you're a woman, though.

I can't see any places near DCU not been let to maximum amount of students, but the two above are either near, or on a main bus route that goes near DCU.

thanks Syco, I know these adds, I know all of them:) most of these studios I have already seen...just they don't look like places to live, they are very dirty and destroyed with furniture from the bin...that's why I have put my add also in here, because I can't find nothing normal and clean in daft...

From what I've read here, most studio apartments are dives which are usually rented by people who can't afford anything higher.

The only thing I can think of is sharing, possibly with other mature students, who like cats.

So you want a nice studio apartment on the ground floor that accept pets and rent allowance, all for max €475?

    Good luck with that. :D

As the_syco says you're best bet is to share, or just accept that you'll have to lower your standards a bit.

I know what I'm looking for, even if it's only miracle, I will wait...Actually I saw one very nice and clean cheap studio, but was on 1st floor...I believe I'll find something similar on ground floor.I still have a time and I can paint studio by myself...

Similar position to the OP. Mature student except I don't have a cat of my own, but don't mind them. Would have prefered a nice studio if such a thing existed. Have seen some friends studios in phibsboru and north circular etc, and basically my heart died when I saw how cramped the quarters were.

Trying to keep these small little place clean and tidy is a nightmare, plus they from what I have seen they tend to be poorly insulated resulting in big esb bills. :( Kitchens are so small that my friends living in such places tend to depend on take-aways. Another added expense.

Would love to hear if the OP had any success in finding a place. Also if they had given any consideration to "the_syco"s suggestion.

Actually I found something very cheap, clean and nice...fact, is small, but only for me is enough...I don't cook to much, so small kitchen is not a problem for me...the most important thing is, that is clean and without mould...
