28-07-2012 12:45pm#1So I started gambling a few weeks back when a payment mishap with Microsoft left my Paypal with a positive balance, and I decided to put some of the money into a Paddy Power account. I never do anything big or crazy; 90% of my bets are very minor ones of 1 or 2 Euro. The odd time I go with a 5€ flutter. Regardless, I reckon I'm down about 100€ since I started. I'm not sure. So out of interest, I thought I'd start up a log to keep track of the bets I make and, more importantly, to see what my win/loss ratio is and what my profit margins are (my prediction; very, very low).
My bet's won't be massive (unless I start winning a lot, which is doubtful). The two main things I'll be betting on is football, especially when the Premier League starts back up, and WWE events which Paddy Powers now takes bets on once a month. Some may laugh at that but I, probably one of the unluckiest guys on this gambling forum, have managed to make a decent profit out of the PPV events WWE put on. There's money to be made there if you know what to watch out for :P
I'm starting out with €20 but will add to that if necessary as time goes on. For those interested, I follow some people's tips from the Football betting board here, and some other places as well. Not blindly, mind. The main aim here is to document my stupid bets to hopefully cut them out.

Again, another tip from a discussion here in the gambling forums. Mexico had some weaker opponents in their qualifiers, and the hope was they'd slot a few goals past them. Not working out after match one, mind.
So my profit balance then is a nice even 0 at the moment. I won't be counting the top three bets in moving that in either direction, since the bets were made prior to starting this log. Chances are I'll be putting something on the Spurs/Liverpool friendly this afternoon. Just want to see what teams are put out first.

Osters are great. I was let in on them a few weeks back. If I'm right, they have won every home game for quite a while and only dropped a small handful of points away from home. So, confident in them.
Between Spurs and Liverpool, I just find Spurs to be the more competent team but I hope that's not the Man United fan in me being biased. Friendlies are also tough to predict. I was hoping to wait for the team sheets but I'll be out this evening.

EDIT: Ok, found time. 20 minutes after I made the Inter bet, I remember Neymar isn't there. Feeling tired so I'll blame that. I just see Chelsea and Milan playing out to a boring 0-0 draw.
Not trying to be a **** or anything, but Neymar doesn't play with Internacional - he plays for Santos. You probably mean Oscar.
I also bet on the usually reliable Osters today.

Yeah, I know United haven't had a goal-glut of a pre-season. I wanted to put it on United to win but the odds weren't great for a clean win when I'm only betting 2 quid. 8 minutes in and I think United should do well enough here though... 0
