Also as part of my birthday goodies my sister got me a non-nazi item:

German WW1 Hindenburg War Cross of Honour and lapel badge.
Given to all who took direct part in WW1

.... my sister got me a non-nazi item...

Although, since they were introduced in 1934, it is a nazi era item! :D

Okay not WW1, but still imperial German.... ;-)

Baden Commemorative Medal for 1849 (Gedächtnis-Medaille für 1849)
Established by Grand Duke Leopold on 9 August 1849 as a commemorative medal for the forces who helped restore order in the Baden.

This one is showing it's age but is still nice. Looks better in the flesh.

What is that "CP" engraving?? The name of theowner, Why then, did they not engrave their full name rather than an initial?

It is cast. I am not sure what it is. I took it as the makers mark rather than the owners initials. I will have to look into it.

I believe that C.P. is the stamp of the maker Carl Poellath.
