heading to vancouver alone

hi. i have recently got a one year visa for canada and am heading next month. i am going over there alone, so a little bit nervous and a little bit excited about the freedom of going alone. but anyway, just looking for some help and info about vancouver and british columbia in general. i have a trade and working in buildings all my life, 33 years old. i am big into the outdoors and not really a big drinker. is there anyone here been out there on their own and how did you find. any bit of info will be of help and put me at ease.

Get your bum onto google and start looking up all the info possible! There's soo many things to do in Vancouver. Have no idea if there is much construction work in the city and not sure where you would find out.But it's also handy to ask around in the Irish bars as someone might be able to help you out or give you some contacts.
