Hoping to get something cheaper than €70 per night in a few weeks time for a twin room as my friend don't like hostels.

    Any recommendations?

€70 a night is really cheap. Try http://www.staydublin.com/ Maybe an apartment will suit?

So you can get a room and an apartment with kitchen/ sitting area for 75€ a night?

    That's hard to believe.

Good for the landlord too. At 80% occupancy it works out at approx E1,800 per month for a one bed apartment.

If they are in Nama any money is better than no money!

Here is a good website for cheap hotels.

You should be able to get a twin room in Dublin for €70 a night.

Also the Northern Star Hotel near Connelly is usually a good price.

Are you a SuperValue loyalty card customer or know anyone who is? Their weekends away are great value, €150 for two nights including breakfast. You need to have 300 points with them, but I think they give you free points when you sign up. You can book without having the full amount of points as long as you have the required points when you stay.

Try the Gate Hotel on Parnell Street - above Fibber Magees. Don't know what their rates are, but it can't be much!

Trinity College lets its student accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis up to mid-September. See https://accommodation.tcd.ie/kxHotel/

Supervalu breaks are amazing. Really good value, it's usually for a week only though, they don't seem to do overnights.

Their self catering deals are for a week, their hotel deals are for 1,2 or 3 nights and can be taken midweek or weekend :)
