Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

I am a beautician and want to keep up to date with new products etc. Is there a beauty institution that I can join like other professions where you attend courses and network?

I have attended MAC make up evenings that are great so I would like to keep up to date with waxing and nails too.

    Thanks in advance

    Lots of websites like:
    Beauty Guild
    Professional Beauty
    Irish Beauty magazine
    Salon Geek

Salon Geek is a very valuable site for professionals and literally thousands of threads on every topic relating to the industry.

    Hope that helps

Thanks for the reply, I will definately use those links in future.

Is there such a thing as refresher training courses or conference type events for beauticians?

Well I guess it depends really, what are you looking to refresh your skills in? There are education groups at the beauty shows with talks from some great people.
Skills wise attending workshops ie in make up is good, plenty of that kind of thing on offer all year. If there is specific training you are looking to do to refresh your skills then you'd need to contact the companies and see what they have to offer. Honing and developing your techniques, as well as keeping up to date with the industry is easy with a bit of time spent researching and finding what suits you- mountain of information out there for this industry.
For new products, developments etc then the professional magazines are great as are sites like salon geek.
