Ethernet Cable Not Registering

My Xbox (The original 360) won't register the ethernet cable as connected. It was working fine last night but just won't work today. I tried using another cable but still doesn't work. Is there any fix for this? I may pick up the wireless adaptor if not, does anyone know where they are still being sold? I tried Xtra Vision…

Or would it be worth my time bringing the xbox into a "Gadget Repair" shop?
