As a Spurs fan, I have to say that me and a lot of others felt the same despondency about Spurs around the AVB/Tactics Tim time. People stopped caring. Allardyce will get you to 40 points and hopefully you get rid and get someone good in. Your club is one of the great ones in England and deserves much better.

That anti-football loving, crooked charlatan should be nowhere near your club. He may have some footballing merit (to a very limited degree) but he’s not good enough on any level for Everton. Hopefully you have better days ahead.

He'll make us solid at the back then go more expansive. We may even allow 2 players to enter the opponents half

Jaysus. 20m for Walcott and he would've been on massive wages at Arsenal as he pushed his last contract to the wire

You don't get much for less than 20m these days. We badly need his pace in the team. Now get a left back

With the exception of dowell none of them are good enough.

Including dowell, none of them are fit to tie Walcott’s laces. I can’t believe people think he’s a bad signing for a club like Everton

Wow you have a high opinion of him

He has pace and little else imo

Maybe he has a very low opinion of those that are being compared to him.
Anyway, I think it's a good signing for us and he might be able to do something special given enough game time which he was not getting at Arsenal.

He’s better than anything everton have and more than likely better than anything they can attract at the moment. He has a far better goals per game ratio than anyone in the squad bar rooney & Cenk. Plus he’s only 28/29.

The players out on loan are currently playing at their level. Dowell is the only one with the potential to kick on

He is better than we have but he isn't free. I think the money would be better spent elsewhere.

It looks like he is now costing 25m and is likely to be on over 100k per week. I'd say he also insisted on a 5 year contract.

Over those 5 years he will probably cost over 200k per week all in and will have zero value at the end of it.
His game is based on pace so we will probably only get 3-3.5 good years out of him.

He is a known quantity but personally, I'd prefer to take a gamble on a few younger players.

Walcot signed - no excuse now - need a couple of wins and a little more football.

In fairness to our club - we are signing players , unlike the likes of newcastle or Arsenal

Signing players count for nothing if they are like some of our summer ones

Everybody of note is reporting it is a 3.5 year deal and he is costing £20 Million...calm down

He was getting paid £110,000 per week at Arsenal. I'd say it's similar at Everton

Bolasie nearing fitness and Walcott in I don't think he'll be missed.

More worried by sams statement that we won’t be signing anyone else

    No LB is a disaster

Galloway sent back from loan couldn’t be any worse than Cuco

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,722 ✭✭✭nice_guy80

I'd take a LB from a LOI club at this stage
    Cuco is just terrible

Garbutt is terrible. Seen him play in the flesh a few times. Constantly caught out by ball over the top. It’s like he doesn’t realise players are allowed kick it in the air.

Possible leg break for McCarthy, it's bad either way

MacCarthy is one unfortunate lad. Sickener.

Dreadful performance again. Every time a midfielder gets the ball his instinct is to turn and see who he can pass back to

Ah go away. That’s never a red

Sams reputation as an organiser looks ill founded. Defence a shambles

    Schneiderlin offers absolutely nothing

Rooney is capable of passing the ball about but he takes an age to turn, an age to move.. everything is just slow motion with him. By the time he's ready to do something with the ball any opportunity is long gone.

    He's a momentum killer.

Walcott showed touches, vision and ability that far exceeded the level of many of those around him.

We won't be long knocking that out of him.

    Very happy with Walcott today
Best player on the pitch by a distance!

    Deliberate, cynical and last man.

I don't think it would have made a jot of difference to the result mind you.

another point closer to 40 points and safety and hopefully the exit of BFS

drawing with West Brom at home , where is all this great football the BFS fanclub were telling us to expect ?? - the sooner we get a new manager , hopefully start of the summer, the quicker club can start to really progress, rather than this hoofball safety mediucrity.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,725 ✭✭✭✭thebaz

would you want Silva now ???

certainly be much better than what we have, and we might be able to start really planning for next season.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,722 ✭✭✭nice_guy80

Seamus got 58 mins for the U23s this evening in their win v Portsmouth

    great to see
every club in the premier league would struggle with two players of the calibre of Coleman (43 Ireland caps and captain) and Baines (30 Eng caps) out of their team

    Delighted for him.

Separately, apparently Coleman is on less than 40k a week at Everton while the likes of klassen and Ramirez bring in about 3 to 4 times that.

That's a disgrace. That's some reward for commitment and loyalty.

FIFA have been paying his wages since last March. 58k a week.

Because the injury was sustained during international duty?

Coleman's wages aren't published. FIFA have insurance to cover player's wages while on international duty.

Coleman signed a new contract after the injury rumoured to be about £75k per week.
That is pretty good for a seriously injured 29 year old who may never return to his pre-injury form.
