Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Hi :)

Had Immersion on this morning for over an hour and a half and water is only luke warm, anyone suggest what problem is?

Anyone know how to fix or does it require a plumber?

    Thanks in advance

    suggestions and remedies

possibly a thermostat problem(electrician should resolve this for you)
maybe overheat stat has activated(again electrician)
    faulty switch(electrician)
    faulty timer(electrician)
    loose connection(electrician)
    leaky pipe(plumber)
    washing machine/dishwasher using your water
    tap left on(guess who)

It would want to be a fair leak to cause that.

    sure you never know
op was looking for possible causes for cylinder not heating

water flowing from cylinder would prevent it from heating up

Indeed it would. It would be a lot of leaking water to go un-noticed though. But you never know alright.

Immersions that seem to heat very slowly or just warm a little are often either the stat operating too low, or a split element with no RCD on the circuit.
