Thinking about going into engineering next year and I would have to do the entrance exam as I have pass maths, just wondering if anyone has done this exam? how much preparation was required? I know there's past papers but I just want to get people's past experiences with the exam, thanks.

Definitely worth doing if you have an interest in Engineering in Galway. I did it two years ago. They usually run a free week long preparation course - attend this every day, do what they tell you and you should be grand. They basically cover the whole course and do most of the past papers in the week. Even if you weren't to get it, all you have wasted is time. Definitely worth a shot. Nearly everybody passed two years ago from what I can remember. Also a great way of seeing the college, how it works and even meeting people who may be doing the same course as you!

Thanks for the advice, I've had a look around the engineering building already, looks kinda cool. what type of engineering did you go into, how are you getting on with the maths side of things manageable? I want to gather as much info on the courses there seeing as it'll cost me 7K a year......
