Does anyone know of any companies that will purchase used / decommissioned enterprise IT? Obviously, if they were here in Ireland or would collect from Ireland, the logistics would be much more preferable!

We have a few older EMC & Hitachi arrays along with a rake of servers that are taking up real estate. Would like to make a little back on them, if at all possible.

    Thanks!

There's a few companies that specialise in secondhand / used / refurb equipment, but most of them are in the UK or mainland Europe. I haven't come across any in Ireland

You might try listing them on Ebay?

Thanks for the reply. I figured as much regarding the lack of Irish purchasers. Would you know the name of any of the UK based ones?

eBay is an option, but it's difficult to organise shipping etc. Sounds lazy, I know, but I'm more likely to find a purchaser / quote for a mix of items from a single source.

    Option B would be adverts.ie

Be prepared for a lot of time wasters looking for fully-equipped 4/5 year old servers for €100 or offering to trade you whatever rubbish they're having no luck offloading themselves though.

That said, if you persevere, it can be done. I've bought and sold lots of stuff on it at this stage. Saves hassle with shipping if you make the buyer collect too.

Thanks - I'm pretty familiar with Adverts and I think what you've said is spot on. A lot of people asking for a lot of specs and then disappearing off the face of the earth after you've gone to the effort of find them out for them...
