Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Annoying fu*kers who only ever seem to play well against your team

For me (Villa fan), it has to be Federico Macheda. In two appearances against Villa, he has scored twice. The first goal was his sickening winner in Old Trafford in 2009, after United had coming from 2-1 down. The second was in Villa Park in 2010, when Villa had been up 2-0, only for the game to finish 2-2.

These moments aside, from what I can tell, he has done the net sum of flip all for Manchester United.

I feel your frustration but must point out he scored the equaliser away to Sunderland in his second appearance for Utd (Albeit by deflecting a Carrick shot).

EDIT: I take that back as Kuyt played well against other teams too. :pac:

I'd imagine this list will be small enough. Hard to play well against one team only and be shít against all the rest. Only cases like Macheda who hasn't played many games since that moment.

Every season, for 2 days a year, Brad Friedel gets a day trip from his nursing home when some team somewhere in England are stuck for a goalkeeper vs United, and he transforms into the adopted lovechild of Lev Yashin and Stretch Armstrong.

His career has pretty much been this picture, if you imagine a Man Utd crest slightly out of shot to the right.

Tommy Stewart for Shams against Pats. And the worst thing is the Shams have just signed him back!!! :( They'll only play him against us.

Looked decent tonight. :) Should gave put at l;east 2 away but for rustiness.

+1 for Crowe, It got to the point where you were afraid to slag him off from the terrace,

It's gonna happen Stovelid. Nil all at Richmond, three minutes to go and on comes Stewart. I won't even bother waiting. I'll head off to catch the bus and miss the inevitable!

Peter Crouch against Blackburn always seemed to play his very best.

Every away teams goal keeper that played in front of the KOP last season .

I have seen some of the best goal keeping displays/saves ever last season against us at Anfield .

    Arshavin - jammy git.

Stephen O Flynn versus Shels. What have we done to piss him off so much :pac:

While not my team, Torres always seems to put it in against United. I know people will remember the shocking miss with the goal gaping, but even on that day he actually played really well.

Joe Cole used to always do well for Chelsea against Liverpool.

Then we signed him and he wasn't worth a f*ck.

Arshavin against Liverpool. Agger against Chelsea. Suarez against Stoke.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,704 ✭✭✭Corvo

Dirk Kuyt vs United. The ugly git must don Pele's boots the morning before these games because on a normal day he couldn't hit the side of a barn but always manages to score against us. Thank God he is gone...

Another favourite would be Park Ji Sung vs Arsenal.

Anyone wearing goalkeeper gloves against Liverpool in the last 2 years. Joe Hart in particular, a great keeper obviously but absolutely takes the piss against Liverpool.

Injury time vs. Shels. We always lose.

Daniel Agger is a very solid defender and doesn't only play well against Chelsea

Bit too much talk of the League of Ireland.

Better keep the references to a minimum, or it might get merged with the weekly LOI thread.

Aww, did I upset hipster kitty Kold?

You're so indie and underground, you were probably a fan of Friedel since his Liverpool days.

I'm delighted that both Robbie Keane and Tim Cahill have gone chasing the yankee dollar. Nearly every time we'd (Man City) would play against them, they'd seem to score. And two of the most poxy goal celebrations as well. Keane with that daft forward roll and the pistol shots guff, and Cahill boxing the bloody corner flag. GTFO, the pair of you!

Between that and those pesky goal posts you lads were doomed to fail

Either that or you have no great goal scorers in your side.

Ryan Taylor scored in 4 consecutive games against Newcastle. So they bought him to put an end to that

One of the best centre backs in the world imo. Just saying I haven't seen him play a bad game against Chelski.

The whole everton team v United in injury time . .

In two of the last 4 league games agains these gits they came from 2 goals down in games united were cruising to rob draws. Last seasons one cost more then most!

    Danny Murphy, Dirk Kuyt.

Brad Friedel as already mentioned seems to put on a masterclass at Old Trafford every time he plays there.

Mark Farren against Bohs for the whole of the last decade. Motherfunker was forever netting against us. Despicable carry on.

Although he has over 100 goals for Derry and came back from a brain tumour so he deserves a lot of respect.

Drogba against Arsenal. Alright, he's a monster against everyone, but he always destroyed us without fail :(

Love the man though, what a beast.
