jousters didnt use bows or javelins...
horse archers were pretty common and some peoples did use mounted spearmen, ie numidians i think

I think most sports would be improved with adding horses, a martial art, archery/shooting or water and trampolines
So taekwondo horse riding fencing archery sync diving on trampolines.
Fire, lots of fire too.

Very few would be able to compete again but at least that means the quality would be high.

They already have the Modern Pentathlon, consisting of Shooting, Fencing, Swimming, Running and show jumping. Get rid of the horse and give them a bike, a canoe and a mixed martial arts competition. Last man standing...
