    Hi,
I need a new laptop and I was thinking of getting the new MacBook pro for €2300

Harvey Norman offer finance for it (Not the flexirent) http://www.harveynorman.ie/services/payment-options/quick-credit however I have no credit rating as far as I'm aware. The only credit I ever got was a €1500 bank overdraft and a littlewoods account. Which I paid back quickly.

Neither of these will show up on my credit report as far as I know.

So what I'm trying to find out is if they have strict criteria or will they accept me with no credit history. I'm a student but I also work (approx 750 per two weeks after tax).I have no other outgoings beside my phone bill, gym and mobile broadband.

Not being funny but it looks like its 22% interest..you would pay harvey norman 700 blips over the term of the "loan".

Do you really need the laptop that badly as thats effectively burning money.

if youre a student and want to build a credit report then apply for a student credit card.

i could never get my hands on credit when i was working, despite a stable well paid job i had been workin in for years.

as soon as i started college, and ironically was penniless, i was able to get my hands on a student credit card, and overdraft. go figure lol.
