Thought Johnny would be the one to go if there was going to be a break like that.

    Great transition from Noble.

    11th. 3 seconds behind.

I was thinking it wasn't the greatest, relative to the other guys, considering his position entering transition ?

    1 Alastair Brownlee
    2 Jonny Brownlee
    3 Javier Gomez

Jonny still to take his 15 second penalty.

They're running at some speed at this stage of the race. Obviously trying to get his 15 seconds on the road.

Some speed alright. Jonny not taking penalty on first lap. 17 second gap already!

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,910 ✭✭✭couerdelion

Some pace! Hope that they haven't over cooked it.

Not sure about Gomez, he tried to stay with them last time out and paid for it.

    What was the penalty for?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,123 ✭✭✭GoHardOrGoHome

Jonny not taking the 15 second penalty yet (end of lap 2).

    Any word on Noble?

    What was the penalty for?

    Bike mount.

edit: Can he take the penalty at the end? Just have it added to his time?

    What was the penalty for?

Mounting before the line. Didn't see it myself.

Jonny being dropped. He looked tired when Alastair looked fresh a couple of minutes ago. Hope he can still get bronze.

No. Has to stand in the penalty box just before transition.

Unfair advantage having option to serve 15 sec penalty at end. If its stop / go its more of a 40 / 50 sec with building up to speed again.

Anyway geeat to see Gavin racing so well.

    Jonny taking it now.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 27,833 ✭✭✭✭ThisRegard

He almost jumped out of the box early.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,123 ✭✭✭GoHardOrGoHome

Still got a gap on the 2 French lads. 5 seconds.

Those 15 seconds must seem like hours!

Fantastic! First time a favourite has won!

    1 Alistair Brownlee
    2 Javier Gomez
    3 Jonny Brownlee

Noble still looking at a top 20 finish, currently 19th.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,910 ✭✭✭couerdelion

Great racing. Gomez well deserved silver regardless of Jonny's penalty.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 27,833 ✭✭✭✭ThisRegard

    Noble was 23rd, good result.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,123 ✭✭✭GoHardOrGoHome

Well done Gavin. 23rd. 3:22 behind Alistair.

    23rd for Noble. Good performance.

Be interesting to see the run split. It looked fast.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,320 ✭✭✭MrCreosote

29:07 for Alistair Brownlee on the run apparently.

What is it with tris and the runs being shorter than advertised?!

Great racing. Gomez well deserved silver regardless of Jonny's penalty.

penalty made no difference in the end. Jonny was being dropped by Alistair and Gomez on lap 3 anyway and would probably have come 3rd, penalty or not
