what i can recommend is that you take out personal income insurance if you are going to play over here as you are not entitled to social welfare and if you break your leg or another serious injury you will not have an income when out of work injured.

good luck with the football, id like to play also but im the most injury prone person around so i just stick to a bit of road running !!

    Define decent level?

Regardless you have 2 choices really, you can play in a Regional Competition, most likely meet some quality people and just enjoy a game of football...or...

You can trial to play State League, probably get anything between $50 - $200 per week but travel up to 3 hours for games depending on who you play and from my experiences with this and anyone who has does it, the players who play State League are generally feckwits who don't socialise together, greedy and in general are just not enjoyable to be around.

As you can guess I play in the former!

Season does not start again until April next year so it will be in Dec/Jan before teams get back together.

PM me if you want specifics around who I play with and when we get started up again. We play in the ESFA Comp (Prems).
