Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Burly Mr Bentley, 36, said in one YouTube clip: ‘And I’m thinking why is the power of God not moving? And He said, “Because you haven’t kicked that woman in the face.”

    I love this man.

Todd Bentley, who as a 15-year-old was convicted of a sex attack on a boy aged seven.
The former drug user, who is Canadian but based in the United States, even laughs about his ‘healing’ techniques.
I think its him who needs a good kicking!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,438 ✭✭✭✭El Guapo!

Ok I know people with terminal illnesses can look for any way to be cured or find hope somewhere but seriously.....believing an ex-junkie, sex offender kicking you in the face will cure you??!!
These idiots deserve to be kicked in the face. And so does the "preacher".

Bam bam bam..I want to go out and kick as many people as possible in the face, for God of course...

What troubles me is the mob mentality behind his following. Christianity has this hold over a lot of people's lives and they're so suggestible that they'll go along with just about anything if they're convinced that it's Christian enough. Life needs to be considered not from a New-Testament viewpoint, but from a modern-day, rational, corroboratory perspective. Ask "does this make sense in a world which isn't full of inexplicable magic and fairies to anybody with access to Google?" and if the answer is anything besides a concrete "yes, it absolutely does", then be sceptical about it. There will always be anomalies where you are surprised by things that happen in life due to their unexpectedness, but that's just the joy of living! Our brains are too feeble and our methods too primitive to even begin to understand the world in all its complexity. Give it a few thousand years and we'll begin to make significant dents in what we don't understand, but not in our lifetimes.

Please don't insult Christians with this tripe! This is NOT Christianity.

A kick in the face does less damage in the long run than dumbing down the more difficult parts of life.

Quick, tie him down before he kicks someone in the face as a gift from God! Tyrannical, unsympathetic, Old Testament God.

i am not defending religion I am just saying that most Christians don't take this kind of stuff seriously.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 535 ✭✭✭Chloris

Yeah but most Christians don't even go to mass if the Christians I know are anything to go by. It's the crazy, fringe weirdos you have to watch out for.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Facekicker could do a lot of good in the UK.

He could wear a spandex outfit and become a super hero.

The desperation of these people knows no bounds. That's the real tragedy.

These are people who modern medicine has unfortunately failed. Desperate people do desperate things, such as turning to homeopaths and other quacks like this.

I was wondering when someone was going to bring up Todd Bentley on boards.ie. I take great comfort in knowing that none of what he says in that clip is actually Biblical, or orthodox in respect to Christianity.
