Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Always have one person you can talk to about anything, ie. a go-to person for if you're ever sad or depressed. Whether you'll ever need to talk to them or not, it's good to have someone to be able to turn to.

If you're angry/in a bad mood, try to turn it into a good mood, and in the meantime, don't spoil other people's good/okay moods.

Enjoy life. You don't know how long you're going to live, so do all the things you want as soon as you can.

Don't wait until you're finished school or finished college to start doing all of the things you want. At 18 the average person is already 1/4 of the way through their entire life, so make the most of that first quarter, it's a fairly enjoyable one for most.

Don't procrastinate. Get work done and out of the way quickly so you can enjoy yourself without having it on the back of your mind.

Don't start smoking or taking dangerous drugs.

Talk to people over the phone/through skype/in person rather than via text/email/Facebook if you want to socialise with them.

Don't waste loads of time online. It's often just out of habit, and if you stop to think, and find that you're not actually enjoying yourself and are just hitting F5 on different sites on a regular basis, go and do something fun/constructive instead.

Don't be too hard on yourself. You're probably lovely, or at least there are probably many good things about you.

Try to focus on the positive.

Focus on the present moreso than the past (especially) and the future.

    Smile more. It's often contagious.

Don't worry about things that you cannot change.

If you're in your 30s or 40s or 50s, it's not too late to make something of your life. Probably is in your 60s tbh.

Don't lose sleep worrying about money!

Let me tell you something about the recession. It has created a massive boat, and we're all in it. You're worried about missing a payment, someone else is worried about missing two, while another is worried about not making any payment at all in a year.

Threatening letters and phone calls are just that. They are not going to knock on your door like they say they will. In this day and age people's credit ratings all over the country are in a mess. So what? You can't get a loan or a mortgage for a few years? That's a good thing at this stage. "But they're going to bring me to court" - On the rare occasion that this happens (and believe me, no institution wants to do this so you must have been ignoring them when all you have to do is open up any kind of dialogue) it's not the end of the world. A friend of mine owes 35k to the credit union. They brought him to court. The Judge asks him can he pay back 20 euro a week. He said no. He said he can manage €10. Judged banged his gavel, he had to pay 10 euro a week, and that was it. No big deal.

Moral of the story, nothing is as worse as you think it is when you spend too long worrying about it.

Fair point, as a teen I just find that my generation uses Facebook and the likes to communicate with friends too much. Texting is grand really, and it's handy, just as long as it's not pretty much the only method you use to communicate with one or more people.
