Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Unlocking iPhone 4- good or bad idea?

I have an iPhone 4 which I got on an 18 month contract with o2. This contract finished in June and since I've used it on 02 prepay. However I've spent a big amount on data. The o2 add on is 700mb for €9.99. I seem to be using about 4 of these a month if not even 5.

So was thinking of unlocking the iPhone and using a 3 prepay sim as it would be better for value with data.

Are there any disadvantages or problems associated with unlocking an iPhone 4?

If your contract is up just give O2 a call and ask for the unlock code. I did it on mine a few months back. Once it's unlocked you have to restore it through iTunes and then you're good to go.

No it makes no difference to the phone having it unlocked. Get onto 02 and they will unlock it for you in a few days

Thanks. Sorry for silly question but what exactly does it mean to restore through iTunes?

When unlocking would I lose anything like the photos I have on the phone?

You do not need to do a restore to activate the unlock. All you need to do is insert the sim card from your new network and connect the phone to any computer running iTunes and it'll simply unlock it there and then.
